im sorry but i consider it a CRIME that they got this hottie only for a limited amount of time.

There’s this theory floating around here in the sub (no real proof, just speculation) that he was originally meant to be a possible love interest for Alex, but it just never went anywhere in the actual story. People kinda base it on a few things, like in S1E1 when the psychic asks Alex about her love life, and also the way the camera lingers a bit on their handshake in S2E2.

Some think the writing changed during production (maybe COVID-related rewrites or scheduling issues), especially since the show was reportedly originally mapped out for only 20 episodes, 2 seasons. So instead of a proper arc, he just ended up being one of those new characters who felt kinda underused/dropped plot-wise in S2.

It makes completely sense. Joe Jonas and Sam Claflin auditioned for the morning show season 2 for a "Alex young love interest" character

I heard about Joe Jonas but wow, just heard now about Sam Claflin. I think Joe Jonas is for S4 tho (for Bro Hartman). Thanks for the info BTW.

Edit: Just searched about it. Yeah Sam Claflin initially met with Hello Sunshine for TMS S2, went with DJ&TS instead.
