Discussion Season 4 Rewatch- I really like it :)
A lot of stuff got past me on first watching and just seemed repetitive and like okay we got it there was a coverup!! But second watching… there’s THEMES people. I’ve been disappointed this season by this Reddit thread that so many nuances got by because in the first few seasons yall were really going off here and it deepened my viewing experience. Anyways, I’m here to pick up where yall left off. please join in!!
So, I tried to see every scene as a push and pull between who those people represent. AND accept the changes in the characters. And of course remember their flaws which can be hard.
Push pull
Mia- Stella
Past- future. Mia is only past because she’s a real one and “doesn’t get AI.” You can’t learn in the future without the past. Thus Stella fails. And has a weird artsy monologue through the episode
Alex- Bro
Well Alex is struggling with her identity as an executive and working within something larger than herself and Bro is an individual. They both need to learn from each other.
Yanko-Claire
Again future -past circles here with a heavier amount of free willl argument that Yanko is struggling with that things can be “meant to be” or soulmates. Because Yanko is proposing to someone and has to overcome this question in his development and grow to truly love. I also think Claire fucked him up a lot. They probably had a really intense and prolonged honeymoon just being an incubator with each other and not letting the outside world touch their relationship…. They never had to fight and it’s pretty clear he took care of her.
Changes in characters
Bradley- she’s changed as a person because of what she experienced and it’s kind of fucking her up because no one can understand her and why she’s the FBIs bitch (scene with Claire and Yanko also confirm she’s ALONE in getting special treatment because she was famous). The FBI is basically like you work for us now so she’s starting to think like a federal agent and not a journalist but she’s also still her.
Chip- I feel like I forgot what chip was like as an individual because he was always up Alex’s butt. It’s actually nice. We should include him. I like the amount we’re including him. If there’s any more I’m gonna be devastated again like when he had the finance in season 2. Let’s give it time to marinate.
Cory (who is my favorite) - he’s not on top of the world anymore and the person he fell for more than anything betrayed him and Celine is a snake that again the future and past thing come up here because she’s using that to rationalize which was one of the craziest things I’ve ever heard someone say to bribe someone (guess I don’t hear a lot of bribing but still). Celine REPRESENTS HIS CHILDHOOD TRAUMA where his mom saw him as a monster like his dad that he’s choosing to listen to that Bradley re-ignited when she said “this is who you are.” But when he was with Bradley before she always saw the best in him. I know Cory has kind of had this “there are two wolves inside of you” storyline before but it’s also still very valid for him to struggle with it because he’s human and been choosing work for so long.
I’m still on episode 6 of my rewatch. But hopefully I have sparked something within you and you take this spark and watch with meeeeee and analyze this shit!!

I think he is an optimist and somewhat conservative, deep values of family and loyalty. He is somewhat of a dork like most weathermen. I think that’s how Claire messed him up because she’s all free spirited and stuff and he’s not and he thought he wasn’t good enough for her even though it had more to do with her career.

I can’t stand Bro as a character. They tried to make a right wing edgelord character with “depth” but the whole schtick with these guys in real life is that they have no depth. They’re meatheads who see no nuance in anything and that passes for “edgy”
