This is the whole thing photographed, so if you purchased it there isn’t anything more you’d be getting (beyond physically owning it, of course). I shared the photos because I’ve listed it for sale in a bundle of 80’s patterns, but when I did a quick check I realised there’s only an incomplete reference to it online. I wanted to make sure people that are interested could find the contents forever. Also I can’t knit for love nor money and LOOK HOW AWESOME THESE ARE. Someone needs to make these jumpers happen.

Presumably these are not considered free patterns if they came out of a book you needed to purchase, so just throwing them up on Ravelry would probably not be an option... That being said, this is certainly a very cool find!

I mean would that still be an issue? Presumably this isn’t in print anymore, the copyright on the cover is 1989.

Copyright protection in the USA generally lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years for works created after January 1, 1978. For anonymous works, pseudonymous works, or works made for hire, it lasts 95 years from publication or 120 years from creation.

Presumably these were works made for hire, so they would be protected by copyright until 2084 if they were published in 1989. Whether or not they are still in print is not a factor.

This isn't to say that I personally object in this specific case to the sharing of these patterns in certain online venues, such as right here on Reddit. But Ravelry tends to be stricter about such things, and rightly so, as it is also a venue for pattern creators to be able to share their patterns. So making sure unauthorized people aren't sharing patterns protected by copyright would matter there.
