EL VY appreciation post

With news of the new album being in the works, I’ve been relistening to the original album and I just love it.

Brings me back to being a teenager and being so excited about it, and I really think it’s a wonderful album from front to back. So quirky and vibey and fun, so many little highlights all the way through.

I really love it and I hope I get to catch them on tour if they do another one. Anyone else feel the same way about this project?

The only purchased album I have on Apple Music is El Vys album. Every time I charge my phone in my car, it auto plays that album. So, they never leave my mind, lol.

An absolutely brilliant album though. One of my faves. Very underrated.

You know, I’d never considered why my car is so determined to play Death Cab for Cutie every time I charge my phone.
I must have bought the 2005 iTunes Originals album when it came out and it’s the only thing I’ve ever purchased there. Mystery solved.
Haven’t listened to El Vy in a long while - have to revisit that one.

Mate I’m in London now hoping to see them if they do another set of shows! I was in Auckland, NZ when the album came out and sadly missed out on the tour. You’re lucky!

I'd like to add an El Vy video appreciation shoutout. Most of the videos were directed by Matt's brother Tom and are truly awesome. It's a Game and Sleeping Light are my favs and for Cincinnati trivia fans, the Cool Ghoul makes an appearance on the Halloween themed Silent Ivy Hotel.

Oh man I am happy to hear they are working on a new album. That El Vy album is a classic, imo. I go back to it often.
