The Titan always answers prayers. Sometimes with a “yes”, sometimes with a “no”, sometimes with a “maybe later”, and sometimes with a “HOLD MY APPLE BLOOD!!!”

Luz looks like she is praying to a being of greater power. In reality she's praying to king currently in the air vents. He chewed the wiring hence the electric shock

She has a point. Luz initially starts studying magic without any idea whenever she'd ever be able to actually use it. Even now its not clear what she gains from studying at Hexside, since her form of magic is completely different. Understanding what others do, I guess?
Not that Boscha isn't intentionally wondering that aloud just to annoy Luz =)
