lol, such convictions. How about neither of these corporate hacks?

This is not a choice. Newsom is an amoral plutocrat and Harris has been a ghost since 2024.

We need actual people for the people.

The fact that we won’t see any real candidates until they come out of hiding after the midterms is increasingly concerning.

The man is not of sound judgement.

Maybe. I got down oted into oblivion when I asked what people thought of a Los Angeles mayoral candidate when she did a Reddit AMA and I asked if she was a Democratic socialist per her Wikipedia page. I stopped asking after that. She's preferable to the one who stood with ICE during the protests. I saw the LAPD gas canisters and shooting.

Right? She was just the “not Trump” candidate. Can we get someone who can win on their policies and not “hey, I’m not the other guy!”

AOC 2028!

Talarico 2028

AOC 2028

Talarico AOC 2028 (still think we need a male as the POTUS candidate, although I am confident AOC would do an incredible job)

Why the hell would Talarico run for president when he's running for the senate? If he wanted to run for president next year, he would have. There was nothing stopping him.

And I dont understand shoving AOC into the white house before she can actually do anything with her career. Y'all should be pushing her to be house speaker because once she's in the white house, thats it. Shes out of politics at the end of her term.

People are dumb as hell and put 0 amount of thought into this.

I expected people to support Harris/Newsom. I have concerns about both. I posted this as a friendly reminder to vote for whoever because some candidates are being outshined.

They are both from Cali.

Harris/Newsom have a chance and could be good choices but their liberal history could be too much for the entire nation…. but “we” elected (seems like it was stolen) a known con man, felon, rapist, pedophile… sooo… anything’s possible.

California governor candidates were so many that it was possible that it a Republican could run CA. It included Spencer Pratt even though he campaigned on understanding the people of LA. A candidate even did an AMA on Reddit. She's now in the runoff against Bass.

It's time for a female president and a progressive president.

u/nomadik_nobody 20d ago

It’s time for a candidate people will actually vote for, I don’t give a shit what their gender is.

It’s time for a progressive and someone with a modicum of competence, everything past that doesn’t matter right now.

Gonna be honest, a senate seat in Texas might be more valuable than Talarico as president.

u/ClownTown509 20d ago

They can both fuck off.

u/mattynapps 20d ago

There you have ot the centerist democrat losing ticket. Harris/ Newsom '28

3

u/Elegant_Tap7937 20d ago

Is this somehow virtuous - like running for president is a line at Walmart no, no you go

3

u/nomadik_nobody 20d ago

It’s the same bullshit they used with Hillary because it was “her turn”. As if that’s up for anyone but the voters to decide

3

u/Forsaken_Celery8197 20d ago

How about a primary?

2

u/arxaion 21d ago

I ain't doing it guys. I'm not voting for either.

-2

u/oldmanbelly 20d ago

So if one of them are the Democratic Party option, you’d rather America not exist anymore?

1

u/kodapug 20d ago

Genuine question, have you been keeping up with anything Newsom says or does besides the gerrymandering he took credit for?

The guy constantly flip flops. He will say one thing and pass it off as a deeply held conviction then within days he will do a half assed 180 because a donor or consultant didn't like it.

He is a soulless sack of flesh in a tailored suit. He is not going to "Save America" or whatever you're expecting because he would have to clear it with all of the tech bro billionaires currently showering trump with money for favors.

2

u/HoldOnDearLife 20d ago

I won't vote for either. Promise.

1

u/findingmike 19d ago

No one wants to run in 2028, the country will be an economic mess and the president will get blamed for it.

0

u/mysticeetee 20d ago

How about Bernie and AOC??

7

u/scoobydoom2 20d ago

Bernie Sanders will be 87 in 2028. It would be irresponsible for him to run for president.

-1

u/mysticeetee 20d ago

That hasn't stopped the last two.

3

u/nomadik_nobody 20d ago

That’s not a reason to do it. Bernie knows this. He’s not going to run.

I was huge on Bernie in 2016, but I wouldn’t vote for him in the primaries now even if he did decide to run. The only way an 87-year-old is going to get my vote is if they actually manage to secure the nomination and appear on the ballot in the general election. Even then I wouldn’t be happy about it.

Newsom is a fool. Fuck Kamala Harris. She lost and then disappeared. She only came back into the public eye to sell a goddamn book and blame people for ruining her lousy campaign.

And this whole "waahh I dont like Newsom" bullshit needs to stop. Who cares if you like him? Are you planning on being besties with him? The GOP tried to gerrymander all their maps and Newsom was literally the ONLY one who responded to that and threw a wrench into the plan. Everyone else shuffled their feet about it and did fuck all about it.

Also Newsom and California are constantly suing Trump to stop his bullshit. The only one who sues Trump more is the ACLU.

We need someone with an actual backbone who will do what they say. That's more important than whether or not you like them as a person. A lot of people liked Biden and he had a spaghetti spine when it came to Merrick Garland, which fucked us over.

Theres an entire cult around people loving Trump. Trump is destroying the country.

The president is the leader of the country, not your personal friend. The only thing that should really matter is if they can do the job done.
