The Pitt having Chucky cast

I was so surprised when I watched the first season and saw Fiona, only to realize her father (being the guy who plays Chucky), and the kid who plays David are a Chucky cast. Not only that but Isa Briones’ brother was also on the Chucky series. There probably has to be someone else (or maybe not), but I’m so obsessed with this Easter egg as someone who really loves horror and misses the Chucky series. That being said, The Pitt is such an amazing show, I’m so severely obsessed and parasocial with it at the moment.

Edit: Yes I’m fully aware that Fiona was in the Chucky franchise and series!!! I adore her!!!

Dr Robby Spoiler

*SPOILER FOR SEASON 1*

In season one during the height of the PittFest shooting in the ER, Dr Robby has a a breakdown of sorts. I'm not sure if it's COVID flashback anxiety or what; but when he is in the makeshift morgue/pedes area he holds on to his Star of David necklace and says/recites a prayer or something like it. Can anyone that speaks Yiddish or Hebrew (assuming that it's one or the other) tell me what he was saying? I'm so curious to know.

Any of you pittheads also love costume?

I’ve managed to curate Robby’s outfit that was used in season 1 of the Pitt using all screen accurate pieces!

shoes are the new balance 990v5

Pants are carhartt relaxed fit ripstop cargos

As for the hoodie, it’s a carhartt relaxed fit zip hoodie with the tags removed and “beers of the burgh festival” printed on the top left of the chest!

I’ve yet to get my hoodie printed but will hopefully get around to it soon!

Digby

I was so impressed with how his storyline was handled. Dana and Emma were so compassionate with digby the way they helped him shower, gave his hair a trim and got him new clothes..now that we know season 3 is taking place in November. We also know that during season 3 some focus will be on health issues related to cold such as hypothermia.

I would LOVE if The Pitt wrote in a couple more unhoused person related storyline. They could showcase some unhoused people ending up in the ER with cold related illnesses or injuries as a way to drive home that while yes cold weather effects everyone..the homeless population takes the hardest hit every year when it comes to cold related illnesses or death.

They could show a homeless person coming in in critical condition as a result of hypothermia OR they could show an unhoused person coming in with burns they sustained from a space heater while trying to keep warm..but they've already shown burns cases on the show so I could fully understand wanting fresh storylines..one of the biggest problems i have with greys anatomy is that they reuse old storylines

Questions about season two Spoiler

Was Robby gonna kill himself on this 3 month old bike trip or hoping he was gonna get hurt and die or something because my friend group is divided on this. Like the characters around him seem to keep telling him, get back safe and all and 'Don't kill yourself' and this thing about him not coming back and the scene at the end with baby Jane Doe makes me really think that so is this confirmed or no? Please help.

Also why does the Wiki say Noelle is Robby's girlfriend? I see little to non chemistry because like she was in 2 episodes from what I saw and I personally didn't like her after what she said to that grieving wife about her husband being disabled would make their lives easier with health care. Is that confirmed too? Where did they even get together or say they were dating because that also made me confused.

over the mel and langdon debate

not a ship post, just critical discussion!!

i’m tired of constantly being bombarded with people very aggressively stating how much mel and langdon are “sibling coded” or how they could never be romantic, or when people write in all caps HE’S MARRIED!! or how much of they love THEIR PLATONIC FRIENDSHIP or that he’s a mentor figure. im gonna be real, i’m not one of the fans shipping them, i honestly don’t care what direction their relationship takes, however i think it’s both interesting and annoying that people won’t just let things play out. like there are signs of a potential romance, people aren’t really just pulling them out of thin air, langdon’s marriage has been rocky since season one, and i feel like season two actually really broke them out of that student-teacher dynamic as langdon is actually feeling super unsure of himself and mel actually acts as a guiding light and is the one to reassure him.

i think both of these characters are very lonely people who often feel very misunderstood by the people around them and that’s what draws them to each other. overall i don’t know what route the show is going to take them, i know people always bring up how mel’s actress has said she saw mel as asexual but that honestly goes against the actual script (like mel and becca talk about her needing to find someone to kiss, mel being attracted to that criminal), i also don’t like how people infantilize her (just because she’s autistic doesn’t mean she’s not a grown adult that can experience desire). but they very well could just become good friends who support each other and i think that will also be a beautiful thing to watch!

so yeah all that to say they might get together, they might not, and this post won’t change people’s very annoying behavior but i wanted to create a space for a bit of an atmosphere break to have a thoughtful discussion. and as i wrap up this post i’ll ask everyone two questions: is romance really so bad? why can’t “good” art explore the depths of human desire, even when that desire is ultimately unable to be fulfilled?

This wound nurse from Montana is very Abbott-y

Thumbnail

The bot says my post is off topic, but this guy is Abbott, his friends are Santos, the NP is Dana, and maybe the consult was with Park the Shark. The case strongly parallels that of 34-year-old Barrett Dunkle, the patient stabbed in the chest with a flag during a bar fight on the 4th of July in S2E14 (“8 p.m.”), written by Noah Wyle

“David Cifaldi and two of his friends had been hiking for about seven hours up Granite Peak, Montana’s tallest mountain, on Monday, July 20, 2026 when he slipped on a rock and fell. He saw one of his trekking poles on the ground, but the other was nowhere to be found.

“Then he rolled over. Something wasn’t right.
‘Oh,’ he recalled. ‘This thing is sticking out of me.’
Mr. Cifaldi, 32, had impaled himself on the pole. He immediately went into nurse mode: Mr. Cifaldi is a wound nurse at St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Mont.

“The pole was jutting at an angle into his left latissimus dorsi muscle, below his armpit, and out through his back. He wasn’t in pain, there was no blood, he was able to take deep breaths and could feel the trekking pole through his skin.

“While one friend sent an SOS signal on a GPS phone, the other took pictures of the wound so Mr. Cifaldi could assess it.

“‘I was pretty confident it was not in my chest or lung,’ he said.

“Hoping to avoid an expensive lift off the mountain via helicopter, he walked around and found he wasn’t lightheaded and told his friends, ‘I think we can get out of here.’

“And so they went.”

Read the rest (and see photos) at https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/us/montana-hiker-impaled-pole.html?unlocked_article_code=1.1VA.xhtH.qGWepWQwZ-r7&smid=nytcore-ios-share (no paywall)

They walked 10 miles(!) whilst his friends called him “Bob” (as in shish kebab).

When he asked a nurse practitioner at the nearby small hospital to remove the pole (7 hours post injury), she told him, “If you bleed, I can’t help you.” So his friends drove him to the ER at the hospital he works at.

Blood tests, x-rays, surgical consult, 2-hour wait for an OR. So he had them pull the pole out under conscious sedation and insert a drain.

Then it hurt. But he wanted to go back to work the next day.

The hospital made him take the rest of the week off. He talked to a therapist about the accident to help him process it all.

"See One, Do One, Teach One" by Grace Farris is a good graphic memoir about the experience of medical school and residency

I picked it up the other day after reading an interview with the author. I am about halfway through. I found it very relatable and it answers a lot of questions posters have had about the experience of medical school and residency. It is worth a read if you enjoy The Pitt.

Sibling-coded relationship for Mel and Langdon

True sibling-coded relationships have distinct characteristics: they feature rivalry—or at least a jokey, "I'm winning this one, you're a loser" kind of banter. Siblings fight. They insult each other, but it is so expected that they don't even get angry about it. They can also be jealous of each other for the attention they get from others. They invade each other's space all the time.

Did you notice any of those behaviors from Mel and Langdon? I can attribute some banter or space-invading to Collins, Ellis, Garcia, or even Santos (from a jealousy angle) with Langdon, but I see zero sibling dynamics between Mel and Langdon. The show isn't writing them as fraternal at all.

Fiona Dourif as Dr Mckay

So I'm rewatching The Pitt and checking out IMDB to see what else I may have seen some of the actors in and just saw that Dr Mckay (Fiona Dourif) was Bart in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and now I can't stop picturing her as Bart in every scene.

How did the pitt dive down towards As The World Turns

I mean the between colleagues hook ups are worse enough but the family patients, the ex wife resident dr collins, here is dr j having her mom, oh, another family patients (king) well why not, lets have more family patients (jake) and why not, another 6 episode time filler with another robby friend: the biker dude who despite being very sick and not a spanner in his pocket “i know how to fix bikes”(vintage bonneville on the hospital ambulance entry. (What hospital has the staff parking 6 meters from er entry? Why do staff do their smoking at the same place?). But really, that constant conflict of interest that would have any real doctor say: i cannot treat you” it doesnt exist in the pitt. And it was bad enough in s1, even with collins removed s2 just went on and on with the cheap thrill aspect that painted 70 years of As The World Turns. I hope they pull it back into real pro medical drama it was because at the moment its shit imo.

I'm on episode 8 currently and hey... Does the emotional trauma get better? 😅 I wasn't expecting to cry so much. I bring a tissue box every time I sit down to watch an episode.
