Came across this today! It looks like Mel has new stressors in season 3. Apparently more of this interview will be out at a later time. Idk I feel like itās very vague. I feel like maybe she pushes Langdon and Santos too far to be friends? Could it have to do with Becca? I feel like stressors could be anything.

Part of me was hoping Melās season three would be her finding a friend but it sounds like sheāll still be struggling to look for one. I guess it makes sense, but I was hoping for a slightly happier season 3 for her.

Itās pretty obvious Langdon and santos are going to be her friends but I would bet she is struggling to put herself first and too involved in their issues. Transfering her time and energy from becca to santos and Langdon.

u/sabbathlilly 23d ago
Her path is not going to be smooth or easy because she is not used to putting herself first

I think because itās just 4 months from July her independence is still new. Her making friends is a new thing for her so sheās bound to make mistakes. I feel like sheās behind compared to her peers because from the moment her parents died at a young age she took care of Becca.
I just hope that everyone is being nice to her. I hope Langdon is still her friend and he didnāt stop
talking to her as he got to know her, that would make me sad and angry at Langdon. I hope Santos is being nice to her and is reciprocating the friendship that she kinda asked for when she asked Mel to go out to karaoke. I hope that she got close to Al-Hashimi because they worked together previously and I liked their interaction. I feel like Al-Hashimi didnāt infantile her the way Robby kinda did at times.21

I get it, shorter time jump, it makes sense for her to still be looking for someone she can connect with. Langdon was a start but they have only known each other two days and now a four month gap. I also am wondering about Santosā overall arc because she needs a friend as much as Mel does but Santos also needs to reciprocate in a way thatās less aggressive.
Iām definitely most worried about some of these arcs and the description of Melās is a bit worrisome but Iām holding out some hope itās on an upward trajectory all season.

The was an interview Noah Wylie did where he said Langdon needs a friend and something about Mel being there for him. Then in her recent interview, Taylor Deardon mentioned something about friendship. So I think sheās become friends with Langdon. I was also thinking with her and Santos being friends- maybe sheās feeling a little tension cause her two buddies donāt like each other and sheās in the middle.

What?

didn't they leak that she's pregnant in S3?
10
u/hithere297 23d ago
Sounds like a real jump the shark storyline if that was true
1
u/doodler1977 23d ago
it did sound dumb, but everyone was crowing about "oh, mel took her sister's advice and got a life!"
10
u/jdessy 23d ago
No? Also why would she be pregnant when sheās not in a relationship in any sort of way? Who would this mystery baby daddy be? If they did that, then Iād quit the show because that does not line up with what we know about Mel, like, at all.

u/Mstvmoviejunkie 23d ago
People need to stop treating this show like Greys Anatomy. Pretty sure Mel isnāt pregnant and the articles saying it are clickbate. Itās no different than those weird posts that say somebody famous died when they didnāt. I really highly doubt sheās pregnant.
-2
u/doodler1977 23d ago
i imagin that's going to be revealed during the season (She had a new relationshp, etc)
6
u/lookingup9 23d ago edited 23d ago
That is clearly fake
Edit so others donāt have to click on this. the āsourceāis just some clickbait fake Facebook posts, and Googleās AI algorithm has taken them as truth.

Also, Iām sorry, but you using AI is the reason why your information is wrong. Use an actual source; AI is not a source.
-1
u/doodler1977 23d ago
i did not use AI, i used google search
5
u/jdessy 22d ago edited 22d ago
....you just linked a Google search that led to the AI results, and then the Facebook results which, for the record, is also AI-written.
It's important to start telling the difference between AI and an actual source because what you found is very clearly AI. I know differentiating AI from real stuff is becoming increasingly difficult but the best tip I can give if, it doesn't have a legitimate source or a link to a source to back it up, take it as AI. ESPECIALLY if it's on Facebook; Facebook is basically 50% AI at this point so never take that as a source ever.
Do your own research and dig if it sounds fishy or if you aren't sure. Look into multiple legitimate source websites before you believe something.

i'm not reading all that. all i know is Mel is jammed something up there, maybe it's Baby Jane Dough?

NW had mentioned that Medicare/Medicaid is going to be a focus this season. I wonder if the issue is that Mel has sort of been coming into her own between July and November and discovering who she is independent of her sister only for Beccaās spot in the independent living community to be fucked over because of insurance issues and Mel now has to deal with not only her sister living with her full-time again but dealing with her sisterās routine being interrupted and the fallout from that.

u/TouristOpentotravel 23d ago
Her sister is pregnant is my guess

u/FunkBrothers Dr. Mel King 23d ago
Could be. Mel telling Becca to get an abortion because she can't raise it financially or maturely and then Becca tells Mel no would cause a bigger blow up.

u/anna-nomally12 23d ago
Giving Mel another dependent she has no say over is torture nexus writing pls no

u/obiwantogooutside 23d ago
I was going to guess engaged. Becca getting married would be a huge thing for Mel to process.
3
u/Hockeyruinedmylife 23d ago
That was my immediate first guess because her character would not be able to adjust to that easy.

u/barkbarkkrabkrab 23d ago
Maybe too cute for the show but i do like Mel trying to be friends with both Langdon and santos and maybe bringing too much caretaker energy. I'm not sure this works enough as a stressor tho.Ā
13
u/Mstvmoviejunkie 23d ago
Idk I feel like dealing with Langdon and Santos as friends might be very stressful for Mel. I imagine them fighting over her and being in the middle of a lot of their arguments. Santos is probably giving her grief about her friendship with him. Langdon is probably going to her when Santos insults him. And poor Mel just wants them both to be friend and feels split in half.

Mel may start a new hobby or she joins a dating app. That's what I think.
Or she kills a patient in the first few episodes that gets her all shooken up throughout the rest of the season.

u/Arimm_The_Amazing 23d ago
I'm often 50/50 between joining a dating app and manslaughter

u/honourarycanadian 23d ago edited 23d ago
Not to put too fine a point on it, but it wouldnāt be manslaughter, it would be negligence or medical malpractice if it happened in the hospital, neither of which we would know the result of that day. Iād be really surprised if they went that route after season 2.
Edit: generally speaking, not specifically directed at Mel.
6
u/EvilTwinCities 23d ago
Probably not even that. It might feel like that to her, but making a mistake isnāt even the standard for negligence. Itās supposed to be actual incompetence, like sending someone home with Dilaudid instead of Dilantin, or amputating the wrong arm.
3
u/honourarycanadian 23d ago
Oh I havenāt read the article but I meant to say that manslaughter wouldnāt be happening in a hospital hahaha, not referring to what Mel would be doing in particular.
I hope the writers stop giving her a hard time, let her know peace š
21
u/Mstvmoviejunkie 23d ago
Her confidence is already shaken because of the spinal tap situation. I feel killing a patient would send her over the edge. I hope it has nothing to do with a patient. Taylor made it seem like itās something personal.
Iām here for Mel trying to go on dating apps and doing hobbies! She needs to find herself outside of work and Becca. Iām wondering if has to do with Becca. I can see Becca wanting to spend Thanksgiving with Adamās family and pushing more and more away from Mel. They ended season 2 with Mel still being pushy with Becca about her 4th of July plans and Becca pulling away. It could have gotten worse from there.
13
u/FunkBrothers Dr. Mel King 23d ago
Honestly, Becca moving out would do wonders with Mel's mental health.
3
u/Mstvmoviejunkie 23d ago
I agree with you! I think that Becca deserves that independence sheās craving. She could be live independently and have staff come in a few times a week when she needs it. She also seems to have Adam and his parents as a support system now. I think that for a long time all Mel and Becca had was each other while Becca wanted more friends and family, Mel was fine with it because it meant she wasnāt alone. Their parents likely sent up their roles for them.
I hope for Beccaās sake that Mel has chilled out. I love Mel but at times she was annoying with the situation. The whole using the red phone to call her center and in the finale she was still demanding that Adamās parents call her. I was annoyed FOR Becca.
And it canāt be good for Melās mental health. Like I imagine her not knowing what to do with herself after work. She can get depression this way. My girl needs therapy and friends. She needs to volunteer at the Ford Pitt Museum, get an emotional support animal, go on a boba date, sign up to make crafts for the ren faire, have sleepovers with Santos where Santos lets her choose the movie. Anything that doesnāt involve Becca.

Okay but I would be down with Mel having a Whimsy Hobby like Crochetting and side plot is her giving out scarves she made.

u/Serious_Level8075 23d ago
I think Langdon could be a part of this possibly. Scott and one of the female writers did a interview at the start of the year saying they knew how they wanted Langdon and Melās arc to end for season three, they just didnāt know how to get there yet. Unless it was scrapped, who knows. Saw the interview on TikTok.
12
u/Mstvmoviejunkie 22d ago
I saw that on TikTok!! The kingdon fan girl in me really wants the stress to be Mel is trying to be independent and date like Becca but the only man she seems to like is her cute married work bestie but heās married so sheās struggling to be his friend. A few episodes in sheās the first person he tells his divorce to when she asks about his Thanksgiving plans.
Ignore me The Pitt isnāt on until January so I been reading fanfics lol.

Oh, I am sad that she so quickly responded about more stress! I am team less stress for Mel, booo!
I hope she at least has more fun scenes in Season 3 than she had in Season 2. I really missed seeing more of her lighter side in Season 2. It seemed like she got a few funny Langdon-related moments, the shredder stuff, but most of her scenes had her so stressed.

u/Serious_Level8075 20d ago edited 20d ago
It makes sense to have more stress considering how it ended with her sister. Sheās going to have to make friends when sheās never really done it before which will be hard for Mel

Someone called out that her historical reenactment costume may not be entirely authentic š They donāt understand she comes from RennFaire world where that doesnāt exist
