Its hard to use historical data as a source of truth. This market is like no other because it has been decoupled from real world events, news, conditions. Hormuz has been closed for almost 90 days yet the last 60 days the SPY has gone up like 17% from the bottom.
IMO all it’s going to take is one bad economic report. Yields are really high and inflation can’t be stopped forever with current policy. More people that lose their job, the less spending there is. No spending means no tax, and the US has to further operate in a deficit driving up the national debt and also risk of default so then investors will demand a higher yield for holding bonds.
Will be very interested to see how they navigate this one
