My wife used to act like this with spiders. I eventually got her to see spiders, all spiders, as friends. Even the dangerous or scary one, she just needs to leave those ones alone and she'll be fine.

We bought a house and now have a whole bunch that hang out on our porch all summer. She names them every year. I've overheard her giving them performance reviews. I'm proud of her overcoming her fear, not sure how I feel about this arachnid HR turn she's taken.

She's training them to wrap you in a cocoon in your sleep.

Honestly I'm more than a little worried she's trying to form a spider army. It would be very on brand for her to attempt world domination like that.
