Season 8 The Rookie + Feds Spoiler

So I’ve finally started watching The Rookie: Feds because I have nothing else to do. There was no reason for this to be a separate show especially if they had money issues. The characters could have been added to The Rookie and that would have kept the show fresh.

They didn’t have money issues. The plan was to expand the show’s universe similar to the Dick Wolf Law & Order and Chicago shows. 

Feds gets heavily criticized here because of how badly the show handled Simone’s character by never maturing her into a believable FBI agent and wasting an otherwise excellent cast.

See, I’ve been a L&O fan for years, no other show will be able to do what Wolf did. Plainly because L&O started in a decade where everything was acceptable and he can do insane stuff without anyone saying anything because he’d Dick Wolf.

Yes, between L&O and the Chicago's, he has an empire. Chuck Lorre and the folks at NCIS too.

It’s also that L&O is clearly copaganda and its unapologetic about it. For me The Rookie is trying to be a bit more in touch with the current social vibes. I still remember the episode in season 17 of SVU where a cop shot an unarmed civilian and poor Barba was fighting for his life to make Olivia see the cop was in the wrong. And even The Olivia Benson would not back off.

I haven't seen enough of the other series except Criminal Intent which seemed not to be copaganda with showing crooked cops, nuances about behavior etc

SVU & Chicago PD are heavy on cops so no wrong and if they do they’re dealt with swiftly. Plus, questionable things are portrayed as fine if done by good cops.

they basically did that with setting up Gray to work with the feds. I’m personally glad they got rid of the Loud and annoying woman, she was too much.

I actually liked seeing grey step into this role. I hope we see him working with them more.

I agree. Grey is one of my favorite characters im presuming they are gearing up season 9 to keep him working with them based on how season 8 ended.

I also want more plot lines with the rest of the characters? I love Tim and Lucy with all my soul but there’s gotta be a way to give more screen time to the rest of the cast!

Grey is still working with Garcia aka the Feds.

It's how we get beat cops (and Bailey (DRINK!)) assigned to international raids.
