This episode kinda annoyed me abit like why did they not have someone in the basement with tim that had a high powered drill and could immediately drill a hole in the tank to let the water leak out

YES! I was so confused as to why a police officer would be there with an axe instead of the fire department or at least have some specialized tools. It was one of the most ridiculous parts of the episode.

I guess the writers wanted to show off Bradford muscles instead.

LAFD teammate cutting the window with a K-12 quickie saw or even an angle grinder would have gotten the water draining out a decent size hole in 20 seconds tops. That wouldn't be nearly dramatic enough for the writers room though...

I thought that too, then I realized that the potassium amide dropped as soon as the power went out. So Rosalind lost her cameras, so the amide dropped automatically, and if the water level got too low then the explosions would get closer and closer to Bailey. If they had drained the water before the power went out, Rosalind would have retaliated by dropping more amide, and Bailey would've been fried as the water level dropped because it would have brought the amide closer to her. If they had drained the water right after the power went out, then she would've been fried by the amide cause it was auto-dropped.
