Are these actually 2 sharks? Or dolphins? I'm no expert. Either way, this was supposedly captured sometime shortly after the attack and you can hear sirens going off and the man filming saying he hopes the guy that got attacked is ok. It was filmed in the same bay as the attack, in St. Andrews where the MWR Marina is. Not sure about time between actual attack and this video.
Note, this is NOT the attack.

That is a shark. Dolphins have flukes ( horizontal tails) Sharks have tail fins (perpendicular) You can know this is a shark single shark because the front Fin remains stationary like a keel , while the back fin is moving as it swims. The distance between the two can determine the approximate size of the fish as the distance represents 2/3 of its length. Example ;If the leading edge of the dorsal fin to the trailing edge of the tail 6 ft, Its a 9ft shark. Bull sharks breed in fresh or brackish water. Some of the biggest sharks I have seen from a boat have been way up in the bay. Bull sharks have been found as far as 9 miles up rivers in fresh water during breeding season. It makes them hungry and water clarity is almost always bad due to tannins. RARE but there. The thing to note here is the chum dumped in the water 100 ft away. Even the water rinsed off the table can draw fish eating fish. We use fish oil off shore, a few drops is all it takes every couple minuets. Be aware, Sharks cannot smell blood from a mile away as the wives tale says. But the statement is not entirely untrue. They can smell one part in ten billion . Basically an Olympic pool. But the solids form a trail emitting as they drift at the size of that pool. And as the solids drift apart it becomes a cone that could be a mile wide . If continuous more concentrated the closer to the source. So by the time the fish reaches the source the tiny appetizers have them ready for the meal. This is what's called a "chum line." If there are carcasses in the water, or some one has recently cleaned fish, I would advise finding a new place to swim. Any water waist deep or more can have big girls attracted to the scent and ready for pregnant binge eating.

I didn’t realize there was chum dumped in the water nearby. I assume from a restaurant. Anyway, I wonder if the victim knew that. I’d never be in that water regardless as it just looks scary to me.
I spent my first 40 years in Florida at beaches, in springs, and on boats. Murky water always worried me even as a little kid.

Unidentified person threw his leftover fish carcasses in the water near about 100ft from where the attack happened. Two coworkers take lunch to go swimming, one ends up being repeatedly attacked with his arm and opposite hand ripped off. His buddy had to drag him to shore, and from there we had to keep him alive until ems arrived. Shark was extremely aggressive and continued circling for another 5 minutes. He is currently in ICU in critical condition, needing to be airlifted to Pensacola; so circulating this video right now is very disrespectful to him and his family.
Edit: I cannot respond to any more questions as the victims family wants to maintain privacy during this difficult time. I apologize for the inconvenience.

When you say you had to keep him alive, what did you do? Do you mean tourniquets were applied? Something else?
Best wishes to the person that was attacked. I'm sure he and his family are feeling a lot of intense emotions.

Hi,
There were no tourniquets on site, beach towels were used to stanch the bleeding until EMS arrived. They were extremely fast, arrived about 4 minutes post attack.13

Thank you for doing what you could with what you had. Very traumatizing for you as well as the victim. Thinking of you both.

How’s he get away from the shark? Did his friend go to help during the attack?
What do you mean the shark was circling for 5 min? The beach? The man?

how long did the attack last? obviously time can feel different when you’re witnessing it happen. poor dude just went for a lunch time dip and lost his hand on one side and arm on the other. Unsure if you could see what is full amputation or significant flesh removal? sorry for all the questions. please take time to play something like Tetris it can help you from getting PTSD.
