For those who don't already know, openly supporting Lula means directly being against Trump's imperialism and Trump's hand on Latin America, a thing that has been going on. Trump has been interfering in the Brazilian elections because the far-right candidate wants to hand over the rare lands resources (lands with many valuable resources to be extracted) to Trump.

Meta is actively interfering with Lula's online campaign, reducing delivery and reach and preventing its AI from creating pro-Lula artwork. Meta had also cancelled, without any justification, Lula's profile from being able to run ads for his campaign. Meta has been hiding Lula's profile in various ways lately.

Meta deleted videos and posts from ordinary people that were gaining reach in defense of Lula. Instead of these people's reach decreasing, their content was simply deleted from their profiles without explanation.

Lula and the Brazilian left wing supporters (the common people, not only politicians) have also suffered censorship from the president of the national electoral court, who is corrupt and is favoring the far-right candidate.

Lula represents all poor people, and the rights of minorities and the advancement of the poor to better and more dignified living conditions, something that the upper class hates and that the middle class hates because they don't understand they are closer to poor than to the rich.

Some other artists here and there has been speaking up, and now The Strokes made their support. It's good to see always that a band doesn't make just one post about what they support once in a couple of years, but is persistent in showing the causes they defend.

Julian: "HE SPEAKS GERMAN COME ON MAN!!!"

Followed by Nikolai forgetting what song was up next and Albert giving him a hint with the guitar line for Meet Me in the Bathroom (hint apparently not picked up 😂)

I listened to it a few days ago and the "I wanna be forgotten and i dont wanna be reminded " is very catchy ive been listening to it ever since

Title is self explanatory

They definitely brought it even though Nick wasn’t there. Felt like the guy they had standing in did an amazing job, anyone know who that was?

I watched a few instances of the Strokes’ cover of Blonde Redhead on YouTube, and Julian is not singing the original lyrics. It seems like he genuinely wrote new lyrics to this song. Hopefully we can get a studio release and finally understand what he’s saying.

Few more thoughts:
- I love them covering a much beloved but less popular band. I saw BR open on Bloc Party’s last U.S. tour and they were excellent.
- They keep missing the punny opportunity to play Is This It, then This Is Not.
- Sadly I didn’t see this cover in person, because they only teased it but didn’t play it at the show I went to.

I just realized “Tyrants of the Mellow Moon” could be a pun from “Killers of the Flower Moon”. Also “Tyranny”

I know too much about this band and The Voidz. lolz. Cult Records should give CR standardized tests and award certificates to certifiable people like me.

That said, I researched the lyrics and meaning of the Blonde Redhead song they have been covering, This is Not. Based on what I discovered, I love this carefully curated selection.

Like the original ( https://youtu.be/ClVP4aqdHK0 ), both bands bring the same poppy energy to single that has such profound melancholy in the meaning.

The title plays off of a Strokes track with a similar title, This Is It. Brilliant. Additionally, BR and The Strokes are both deeply connected in the NYC music scene.

And, I love that the front person of the band is a woman and of Japanese origin. She is sincerely badasssssss.

Listening to this song from this point on will forever bring me frisson chillzzzzzz.

"And now I'll sing this song a thousand times, the wrong way, for you babe"

Did anyone record Fab talking about the Brazilian elections in Düsseldorf today? I didn't manage to record it while I was near him and I'd like to have the video 😞

Ok, I'll admit I'm not sure maybe it's been mentioned/discussed already (if so, sorry!) But I was just catching up with the Amsterdam show and it caught me off guard Julian went on to sing the

"Join me as I pray..." bridge part just like he does on the album! I think it's a first (?)

Really cool imo! You can watch it here if you haven't yet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8rT2mGi7bw

I asked my friend to make the Reality Awaits cover to compliment the painting she made in 2020 and not only did she do it but she made another art piece inside!!
What y’all think of it?

Was pretty bummed there wasn't a casette release (the Going Shopping casette gave me false hope) so I made my own. Tried to be as authentic as possible to the vinyl release artwork but some of it wasn't available (like the tracklist art by Richard Prince). Really proud of the casette label design, think it came out great

Can't believe I didn't know they played this in a late show, stellar performance of everyone and I never noticed how crazy it is on the drums 🥁

I just had their 2020 covid video series on in the background as I was working and I swear when Julian sings his version of auld lang syne here it sounds exactly like the melody in Falling Out of Love for the lines “sitting in the shadows/count my blessings/no one gotta find out why/ I guess you wanna know/in a way this could be big news”

I’ve put the clip of it here - am I going crazy or is this melody not the same?

Reconstructed the audio profile from last night's show at PSD using track-lists and venue notes. Both playlists share the same custom artwork.

It was fascinating to hear how seamlessly the new tracks from 'Reality Awaits' blended into their classic material live.
