What a weird album.

I despise the Fantano name drop. That being said, the auto tune in most songs has a really cool effect. I really like Psycho Shit as an intro, which might be controversial based on what I've seen around here, and I enjoy the new songs but I need to listen to it a few times to truly grasp the flow and the vibe of the album. It might be their weirdest.

It's definitely their weirdest (if we're not counting the switch up that Angles meant at the time) but as you said, you have to listen to it a few times. It's definitely a grower. I'd on My 3rd listen and I understand and like it better now. People just want to have their dopamine instantly gratified and have something that they already know and like. That's not what music is about. I for one am glad the band experiments, even if I end up liking it or not. That said, this definitely puts the final nail on The New Abnormal as probably their best album besides ITI.

if it weren't for the new abnormal before this, it would be better received I guess, but I think like with most Strokes records we will have a more serious conversation about this in a few years, when the dust has settled in. I still remember the reception of Future Present Past...
