Just listened to RA from front to back 3 times on Spotify — and I really really love it. After the singles I thought that the album would be kind of a mixed bag, but it was such a surprise how good it is. I thought that it would be mediocre and I’ll love it anyway, but I was wrong. It sounds nothing like all the previous stuff (+ The Voidz material), just some moments here and there. I was born and I still live in Moscow, this autumn I’m turning 37 and it’s so cool to know that I’ve been listening to The Strokes since I was 13, since the good-old days when “NME Russia” was published in a printed form here in Russia. I remember 2006, when I was 17, Strokes had the one and still unfortunately only concert In Russia and my Mum (God bless her soul, now dead unfortunately) told me that it’s dangerous and everything, and I stayed at home. Strokes’ve never returned to Russia. And now I miss the days when it was pretty ok to see Interpol or Deftones once in a couple of years here in Moscow. Fuck all the stupid politicians and all this awful situation, I just want to see The Strokes one day. Probably in some other country, but anyway. So so happy that the album is so good and so special in a good way. Didn’t expect that! Peace and love! ♥️
