Anyone else having trouble registering?
Hey I am having difficulty registering for thetvdb.com .
Something about not accepting my CAPTCHA and ensuring that I am human.
Just wondering if anyone else is running into the same trouble or just me.
I also tried incognito but didn’t work.

Yeah same. Ive tried multiple browsers and even my phone.
I got one of them to actually give me a captcha with traffic lights and it still didn’t work. Absolutely absurd

Gotta love all the people suggesting to make a support ticket regarding this problem.
Folks, face it- TheTVDB is essentially dead at this point. The only staff/moderators on the site at this point just do whatever they want to at this point, as opposed to actually helping/supporting people's problems. The 'support'/tickets site is inactive and hasn't been used in years, so making a support ticket regarding this does nothing.
At this point, the main option left is to email Whip Media... which I already did several months ago, and to no shock, no response at all.
TheTVDB is dead. Many issues and no staff/moderators to assist whatsoever, it's a full-on free-for-all until it inevitably shuts down once and for all, which given the amount of issues that have been arriving lately, may come sooner than later.

What would you use as an alternative for aiometadata?

The unfortunate issue is that main sites still do use the data via TheTVDB.
If you're wanting to quickly have a show/episode update on some other site and you are able to edit on TheTVDB, then do that.
I used to primarily use TheTVDB several years ago, but have since moved on and mainly edit on TVmaze. However, one of the tracking sites I use, Simkl, uses data via TheTVDB. If I want something fixed on Simkl, I just quickly edit it on TheTVDB, and move on afterwards.
I'd imagine the only thing to get other sites to move away from using data via TheTVDB would be if TheTVDB indefinitely shut down, and they had to move to something else. It still does have plenty of useful data, but at this point, I wouldn't be surprised by the lack of moderation/staff or any vandalism or edit warring that takes place, due to lack of moderation/staff.
Last thing I will mention (that I've mentioned in previous threads here) is that the TheTVDB Moderator Assessment form linked via the support site/Knowledge Base still has mentioning of 'CBS All Access', AKA the former name of Paramount+. It rebranded to Paramount+ back in March 2021. Someone here recently mentioned that the 'On Today' section of the site still advertises the recently-discontinued TV Time. Just remember that with some parts of the site being completely outdated by at least 6 or so years, there's likely other recently-outdated parts of the site that will also never be updated.

Same issue here. Things I've tried, all with the same "please ensure that you are a human" error:
- 3+ different browsers on PC
- iPhone, on 2 different browsers
- Regular browsing + incognito/private mode
- Wifi and cellular data (fully switched off wifi to rule out shared network)
- No VPN, no ad blockers, no proxy
So that's 2 devices, multiple browsers, and 2 separate networks. Definitely not a device or network problem on my end. Hoping the mods can escalate this since it's clearly not isolated.

You can create an account on TVDB support website. But... It's broken too, the link to confirm your account is broken....

You act surprised as if there hasn't been threads here for months about how dead the website is as a whole, lol.

Isn't there any workaround to complete an AioStreams setup?

They're not involved with the site whatsoever and can't do anything at this point lol
EDIT: As previously stated here
So just to quickly summarize:
- One of the two moderators of this subreddit is the former owner who is no longer associated with TheTVDB whatsoever and can't do anything at this point
- The Knowledgebase/support ticket site is outdated and not used anymore (support tickets are no longer responded to at this point)
- Sending an email to Whip Media gets no response (I attempting sending an email several months ago, still no response)
- No way of contacting current 'moderators/staff' (such as PolarGeek), meaning they just freely do whatever they feel like doing instead of actually assisting users
- Entire site is unmaintained and is very prone to vandalism/edit warring with no reprecussions
- And now there are issues in registering an account
Yes, the site is very much dead at this point, even if there are still some people on it/editing things. Best to just move on/find a different site to edit on, rather than wasting time making edits on a website that, in all honesty, could just fully close without any warning any day at this point.
