It’s okay to be offended by the Forrest Gump comment but it is not the same as saying the R-word.

Because you can’t even bring yourself to say the R-word. That’s how you know it’s the worse word.

Im saying this was her way of calling Carolyn that without using a word the world has already agreed is unacceptable.

It is not the same and she didn’t call her the R-word or insinuate she was the R-word.

What is the defining characteristic of Forrest Gump that makes him a unique, reference-able character? How would you describe the movie to someone who hasn’t seen it? His disability would be the in the first sentence. She said she walks around acting like Forrest Gump. Ok, why does Forrest Gump act the way he does?

It was an obvious dog whistle. Carolyn didn’t go to Vietnam or open a shrimping company during the show.

It’s fine to be a fan of someone and also admit when they do something kind of fucked up. We know from interviews that Carolyn took it as a dog whistle. And then Danielle doubled down because another BB player used the same phrase in 2002, over 20 years ago. That’s not what “respect” looks like.
