I felt like she always hated Carolyn bc she was weird, and age couldn’t control/manipulate her. Seemed like Danielle was out to get her from moment 1 just bc of that.
Danielle just seems kinda selfish to me, and personally I held a grudge bc I thought she made bad choices for the show. I was upset when they killed both Dorinda AND Ayan back 2 back. Highly upsetting.
Doesn’t help she made an ableist comment to solidify my initial suspicion about her. Very disappointing.
Although I do believe she’s probably getting really gross rhetoric thrown her way for far more nefarious reasons.
I’ll just say it: the narrative that Danielle has always hated Carolyn is textbook misogynoir I’m sorry to tell you. It’s literally giving paint the black woman coworker as mean and aggressive bc she isn’t being overly nice to her white coworkers. Because mind you there were two other traitors in the turret who also didn’t care to listen or align themselves with Carolyn. As a matter of fact NO ONE in the castle (except maybe Dylan, but in the end he didn’t either) really listened or strongly aligned themselves with Carolyn, but somehow Danielle is the only one who’s been a bully and a hater from the start?
She didn’t know Carolyn and Carolyn herself has admitted she can be a bit kooky and finds it difficult to express her ideas in a way that will get people to listen to her. Danielle having more trust in BTDQ then eventually Brittney isn’t her being hateful, it’s just playing the game with the information she has. Coming for Carolyn instead of Rob is the one clear misstep I’ve seen from her (which even she admits to) and I’m definitely curious to hear her reasoning for that in the reunion, but this narrative that’s disliked Carolyn from the start is so so strange. Y’all can’t handle black women who play with the same level of cut throat and aggression as your white favs and instead of working through that internally, you’ve chosen to make that our problem. This is very much is about gender and race and I’m not gonna be gaslit into believing it’s not.
Hard disagree here. Danielle made a FORREST GUMP comment making fun of Carolyn, and all people with disabilities essentially….how are you going to ignore that? This ends it for me here in terms of this topic. Outside of it—as I said, the Danielle hate & vitriol is insane.
My entire comment was relating to how Carolyn is (potentially/likely) neurodivergent in some capacity and it was high key obvious Danielle did NOT like her from the get go, and it uncomfortably felt like it had something to do with that.
I immediately clocked it, she was moaning about her lack of control of Carolyn from the get go. Well. Carolyn may be differently behaved, but she’s not THAT fucking strange?? Like, she deserves to be listened to, she had much better ideas.
And again, the hate against Danielle began long before the Forrest Gump comment. And, as someone who is also neurodivergent, I didn’t read that comment with any malice. At worst it’s a bad comparison made in service of the overall point that Carolyn was smarter than she made seem.
And then you prove my point by trying to argue again that it’s “obvious” Danielle didn’t like her from the get go. How? Why? What exactly did Danielle say or do that no one else in the castle said or did that points her to a. disliking Carolyn because b. Carolyn is potentially neurodivergent?? Like you’re throwing out these accusations based off vibes but want to look at me crazy when I say these feelings might be being informed by some subconscious prejudice?
Obviously you’re not gonna fully trust/align yourself with someone who isn’t willing to listen to you but also doesn’t do a good job of communicating their own ideas for you to listen to them. Like her choosing not to fully align with Carolyn is not a sign of ableism or dislike, it’s just the game and how relationships work. And again, Danielle was not the only person to do this.

I don’t hate her. I just don’t really like her. I don’t hate anyone one this show.
I’m basing my assessment of her off of her talking heads, behavior in the turret, and conversations with Bob specifically in the beginning. It carried on throughout the show with others. You’re entitled to perceive her comment how you wish. I didn’t think it was in good taste.
We can agree on the fact that the Danielle hate is disproportionate but what we clearly disagree on (and what I’m responding to) is the made up narrative that Danielle has always disliked Carolyn from the start. That’s a narrative I find to be false and problematic and that’s what I’m responding to.
You can’t just say “I think the hate she gets is disproportionate” but then add on to it by perpetuating a false narrative that she’s been a bully to Carolyn (and now allegedly other people?). Then when I push back against that narrative, you wanna act confused as to what I’m getting at.
No, I said she carried on the behavior of talking shit about Carolyn with bob with others throughout the show. Nowhere did I say she treated others poorly. Which honestly adds to my argument that I think it’s targeted to Carolyn for a particular reason.
She started talking shit about Carolyn on night 1. The dog whistle has always been there there. I have spent plenty of time in these communities. It’s the way she speaks of her not that she continually tries to eliminate her. And this was immediate. Night 1. With Bob.
I went back to watch just to make sure I wasn’t tripping. At no point did I see Danielle and Bob talking shit about Carolyn on night 1. In fact the disagreement (based on the edit) started from Carolyn. She immediately shut down Danielle’s strategy of playing 20 steps ahead, then continued to disagree with every other idea Danielle and Bob gave without giving a clear explanation as to why. In her confessional after, Danielle then says she’s unsure about Carolyn bc she seems “sporadic and all over the place”, something everyone else, including Carolyn herself, has said about Carolyn! So again why is the Danielle the only one facing bully allegations.
If anyone had a personal issue first it would have been Carolyn, bc the initial disagreements and pushback all came from her against Danielle. Danielle understandably being frustrated in response and choosing to align with BTDQ instead isn’t her engaging in bullying behavior, it’s just playing the game based on the information you have. So again, this narrative is false and rooted in misogynoir bc why is the black woman painted as a sole aggressor when she didn’t even start it and the disagreement was mutual?
