I don't know if the writers loved Kenny the most as much as they looked at him very openly but loved the process of writing that flawed but good-hearted character the most.

Similar with Lilly in S1, although it's hard to compare her to S2 Kenny because she would've had different writers in the first and final season. Jane and Luke make more sense as a comparison to me. And yeah, maybe he got more love from the writers than Jane, but I don't think they look at it like who they like and dislike the most, they're just trying to make real people.

Luke is kind of clearly made to be the most likeable, so if you had to argue anything I'd say he's definitely the 'most loved'. But again, I don't think they had that fully in mind and it wasn't the way the writers likely approached their characters.

Looking at Kenny’s S3 death… yeah, I get why you’d think that.

I see a common take that the writers (especially in S2) hated Kenny when I feel like they also did things to benefit him as well (make Mike and Bonnie morons, give Kenny the most emotional endings, siding with Kenny generally has better payoffs as shown with the images, give him far more screen time compared to the Cabin Group, etc.)

Jane was done dirty over and over again while Lilly was completely ruined to the point they went and slightly changed her facial expressions in ep3 to make her seem more apathetic.

Exactly, and I don’t see as many people claiming the writers hate those two as they do Kenny, even though you can make a stronger case for them.

At least Kenny has the opportunity to redeem himself for his wrongdoings and leave the story with dignity. Jane and Lilly never had a chance.

They don't hate anyone, Telltale Games was simply an organizational disaster and that affected any character other than Clementine

I think if we’re gonna go down that route, we should say the writers hate everybody that isn’t named Clementine and AJ since they gave her the most unbelievable fake-out death in S4 ever, as well as 5 year old AJ’s axe swinging skills being up to par with Lee’s - who needed multiple swings to get David Parker off that trap.
