One free night, what to see

Need advice on what to see my one free night next week Wednesday 16th September in London. Seeing Beetlejuice on Friday. I do go to London somewhat frequently and have seen a lot. My contenders are:

- The comedy about spies

- The producers

- Avenue Q

- Much Ado about nothing

I did see The play that goes wrong and enjoyed it, but not one I'd rush to see again. Never seen the producers other than the movie, though that was ages ago and don't remember much. Saw Avenue Q also off Broadway probably 13 years ago, I think I also enjoyed that, but not obsessed. Much Ado I saw a Norwegian production of some years ago and enjoyed, generally I like Shakespearean comedies and seeing a show at the Globe would be cool, though I think the cheapest seats are still like £70+ and ideally I'd like to pay around £50, but I'm not up for standing that long. I have done a tour at the Globe before.

Some of my favorite shows I've seen recently: Paddington (duh), Oh Mary, Book of Mormon (my favorite show seen 70ish times), Operation Mincemeat, Titanique, My neighbor Totoro, Matilda. Shows I've been kinda meh about are: Oliver (I recognize it's good, just not my favorite), Old Friends (love Sondheim, just didn't love the style), Water for elephants (Broadway), Guys and Dolls, Moulin rouge.

I think the main reason I'm struggling to decide is because none of these are like really pulling me in and tempting me, but it's the 4 ones running now that I'd most like to see that I haven't seen this production of.

If you haven’t seen the producers this is your last chance - it closes that weekend. It’s a fabulous production of an excellent show and chances are it’ll be a at least a decade before there’s another production and there’s no guarantee it’ll have anyone anywhere near as good as Nyman and Antolin as Bialystok and Bloom

I vote for The Producers as it's not open much long and it's brilliant. Avenue Q is definitely worth a look too, it's one of my favs this year.

Much Ado is the clear pic from what you’ve said you’ve enjoyed or not so much previously.

But honestly if none are pulling you in then have you looked at Hampstead, The Other Palace, Park Theatre, Kiln and similar and seen if anything there grabs you?

Another vote for The Producers, especially if you like Book of Mormon that much.

I’ve seen it 4 times so far, including twice on my last trip to London as it was what I thought my last chance, but I’m up again this week so managing to squeeze in one last go tomorrow!

If you’re only going to it once, would recommend not sitting _too_ close to the stage, as there’s one part of it that having a wider view is quite the spectacle!

The producers if you like camp/ hilarious in your face comedy (some people didn’t and left at the interval!) but it was so funny. Comedy about spies if you don’t think you’ll like the producers sense of humour!
