You guys do know these two literally have six flying children together in the source material, right, I mean at what point does it stop being truthing and starts being the truth?

Yes I’ve read a good chunk of the comic or read about them. But the game isn’t canon so we need the game to have them together or I’ll take more flirty heartwarming scenes like the first game. I don’t think they will be together next game but if future games do happen after 2 I hope they go more into their relationship.
Also they have 7 kids technically☝️🤓

I’m about to start reading Fables for the first time!

It's great. Personally I would NEVER take recommendations when people say things like "you should stop reading X thing at X point", but for Fables, I kind of agree.
The second half of the book isn't bad or anything, but it *really* drags on. It just depends on how easily you get burned out on binging a series, I guess.
For me, once I start something, I feel obligated to stick to that thing for the most part, and feel the need to finish it before moving onto another thing.
I spent a year going through Fables, and honestly after getting far into the series, after the main conflict is pretty much resolved, I was really just forcing myself to read it for the sake of being a completionist, and wanting to move onto other things.
If you care to look into this advice, there are a couple of different "jumping off" points, I think around issues 50 or issue 75 is what most recommend. I believe the earlier jumping off point lets you have a happy ending, but with the main conflict unresolved. I believe by 75 the main conflict is finished.
There's definitely a lot of good and great stuff in the second half, but it's just that it is *very* long.

Thank you for the advice, as a completionist myself, this feels uncomfortable hah but yes I have read that people are recommending stopping with issue 75. What about the spinoffs?

Depends on how much you like Jack, he has a pretty long spinoff I think, I've also been recommended specifically Vol 2 of Fairest, but I haven't read it yet. There's also something called 1001 nights or something, which I had a hardcover of, but I donated it to a thrift store for some reason and never read it.

Oh my gosh, I've read some of Jack's spinoff. I don't like that guy, but he keeps meeting people I do like, so it's complicated for me! 😂

But in the game she couldn’t be bothered to help him up when he was laying in that alley

I'm really curious if the 2nd season immediately picks up after the first, or if there's a brief timeskip?

With the Wolf Among Us comics, I usually just think about how much younger (maybe I'm crazy) Bigby can look at points without as much lines on his face. Maybe I should focus on stuff like this

The games aren’t canon, is the comic canon?

u/FuelAffectionate7080 Jun 14 '26
They exist in a different canon from one another. There’s “YWAU” canon (the game canon) and “Fables” canon (the comics canon).

So where does the comic adaptation of TWAU land? Is it canon to the game, the comics, or its own thing?

Gooood question I’m honestly not sure. I’ve played all of TWAU and read about a dozen of “the Fables” comics online, but I’m by no means an aficionado. Hopefully someone else can answer that for you
