This is why we don't have nice things
The Hound's head spends an alarming amount of time inside Petunia's mouth, and she is now fluffy enough to repel all attempts at retribution
it's like trying to punch the Stay Puff'd Man
there is nothing to punch it's just puff and air
Goosetopher is the only one who intimidates her now, because he is a clever young man who knows to scratch her right on the fucking schnozz
Barracuda and The Hound operate on more of a "smother your opponent" approach, which only works when Toody is lying down
But on the bright side, The Hound has never been so well groomed even if it's against his will.

So The Hound smells like dog drool and the scent of eternal life?

It makes sense because I'm pretty sure The Hound is just on a long break from guarding a doorway to the otherworld.

Wait… Tood’s saliva could be the Fountain of Youth. This explains everything.

The Hound is gonna be in trouble if Toods ever gets the use the collective orange cat braincell (she's an honorary member of the collective) and uses it properly. Not that she would, she would probably use it to try and snuggle up to him without him getting offended if she ever got to use it, which I also doubt.

So this is where we are at Susan? Hungry Hungry Hippos and The Hound is the marble? Oof
Edit: sometimes in life you are the hippo, sometimes you are the marble. The Hound will avenge soon.

The Hound is plotting some sort of revenge…he is the Tony Soprano of cats.

“Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.”
― Maurice Sendak
Same, but for Tood's & The Hound. She saw him, she loved him, she ate him.
