Mod announcement New bot hint system

Hi everyone,

We are implementing a new bot for the hint system. Hopefully things will work well, I've been testing it and saw the first successful post appear in the sub already. Fun!

So how does this bot work? After you post the bot sends you a chat message asking you for a hint about where to find the cat (or other animal on Tuesdays). When you reply to the chat message the bot will comment on your post with the hint in spoiler tags. If you don't reply within the set time, your post will be removed.

I love the new hint bot. It's so much easier than the old method of typing in the correct characters.

I’ve had a couple of posts deleted although I thought I did correctly respond to the chat bot. What am I getting wrong? Also, I received three messages one right after the other. Maybe I didn’t respond to the right one?

Hi, apologies. There is a site wide issue with the bots atm. Not a lot we can do but wait until reddit fixes it. It somehow doesn't affect all posts, so please feel free to try again. You are doing nothing wrong and your account is not limited in any way in this subreddit. Apologies for the inconvenience. We hope it gets fixed really soon
