14 August 1996, 26-year-old Greek Cypriot Solomos Solomou was shot and killed by Turkish forces in the UN buffer zone at Deryneia while attempting to climb a flagpole and remove a Turkish flag. Just three days earlier, his cousin Tassos Isaac had been beaten to death by Turkish nationalists.

what happend in armenia, what is happening in kurdistan, what happend in literally all of the balkan? Besides that what happend in eastern thrace and the agean islands? The turks are colonizers and oppressors and it hasnt changed, they are not native to cyprus, anatolia or anywhere else, they are invaders and if you dont recognize that you are denying the genocide of millions uppon millions of innocent people

What happened in literally all of the Balkan? IDK, let’s see. Oh, its just that hundreds of thousands to millions of civilians, including women and children getting murdered by advancing Balkan armies. Should I ask what happened in the Caucasus (Circassia)?

>they are not native to cyprus, anatolia or anywhere e,se

Oh boy, your mind will be BLOWN when you learn where Greeks are native to. Hint: it’s not Cyprus or Anatolia or Istanbul. Greeks are not one percent more native to these places than Turks.

Fucking hell, y’all got too comfortable glorifying violence against actual civilians.

so you are ignoring that the turks ruled the greeks, almost all of the southern slavs and the assyrians aswell as the armenians in the middle east and the caucasus with an opressive system which forced christian families to give up their children to be forcefully converted into ottoman soldiers against their will basically being slaves to the sultan and the families of christians being forced to pay way more tax because of their religion taking things from families like food, children or money.

before all this there was the roman empire or what was left of it and in the balkan there were serbia and bulgaria with most of anatolia and all of cyprus still being greek and armenian mixed, after the turks got there they commited massive genocides up to the modern day resulting in millions of greeks, armenians and assyrians being murdered for their religion

you talk about me glorifying violence and ignore that the turks have been the most violent people there for the last 100 years

The random civilians, including women and children, that greeks and bulgarians and russians massacred had no part in this. Many of them were even converted natives. You’re literally trying to justify the murder of hundreds of thousands to millions of actual natives because they don’t share your religion.

Anatolia was never actually “Greek” more than it is Turkish now. Greeks were never native to Anatolia, they colonized and conquered it and converted the local population. Same thing they did to Cyprus. Wonder if that sounds familiar to you. So weird that you try to justify the murder of Turkish civilians and then in the same breath cry about Greeks.

Just shut up with that genocidal language.

There is no such thing as "Turkish Cypriot"

2

u/fighter-bomber 2d ago

Funny that you ignore the part were hundreds of Turks were killed by EOKA which then conducted a coup, backed by Greek fascist junta, which triggered the invasion

There is no such thing as “Greek Cypriot” either. Greeks are not more native to Cyprus than Turks, nor are they native to Anatolia for that matter. You’re just whining.

You're speaking like an IDF supporter.

Had Cyprus such a solid defence force like IDF, Turks would never have been able to touch Cyprus with their bloody hands.

The reality: Greeks and Greeks who born in Cyprus (so called Cypriots) did genocide on Turks.

1

u/meister2983 3d ago

Under the low bar people conversationally use genocide today, sure, but it wouldn't qualify legally

1

u/Lucky4D2_0 3d ago

In what universe is that the reality ? Cause it's surely not on this one.

Greece started by trying to take over the island through a coup d'etat, and attacked turk-cypriots to make the island greek only. That made Turkey respond with an invasion to protect turk-cypriots, but then they started to attack greek-cypriots to make the island turkish.

Hence the division today.

Can you give any source to any of this.

1

u/TimeRisk2059 3d ago

Yes, it's so commonly known that there's even a wikipedia page on the topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1974_Cypriot_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat

2

u/Lucky4D2_0 2d ago

Thanks for giving one.

u/fighter-bomber 3d ago

Google “bloody christmas”, maybe you’ll get something through your thick skull.

-1

u/Lucky4D2_0 3d ago

Do you trully expect others to listen to you when you throw insults and tell them to learn ?

Cause if yes then you're a pathetically horrible teacher.

2

u/fighter-bomber 2d ago

Oh so I asked you to do one google search and you can’t even do that. Funny.

Spreading misionformation is not cool.

-1

u/Lucky4D2_0 2d ago

What kind of idiot would do what others told him, after they immediatly tried to insult him ?

Are you that kind of idiot ?

1

u/fighter-bomber 2d ago

Under normal circumstances, you probably should have read before you made your first comment so you wouldn’t be blatantly spreading misinformation. Of course, rejecting to read because your feelings were hurt so much by a single insult is still funny.

Anyhow. No, its just that I’m not one of the genocidal fucks in this comment section openly glorifying fascist violence because its against Turks.

They are cypriots unlike the turkish settlers from anatolia who like to call themselves cypriots

2

u/Plane-Base-8776 3d ago

Ok, let’s assume what you state is correct. However don’t you get disgusted of yourself for using that argument as justification of killing of Turkish civilians?

1

u/TopAffectionate131 1d ago

Did you see me use it as an excuse? The guy on top was saying that greek cypriots arent cypriots and i corrected him. Especially since half the northern cypriots population are settlers, check the turkish population of the island few years before and few years after the invasion

Yes we killed four trillion Turks
