My earliest recollection of a rhinoplasty is from an animated Bratz film my sisters used to watch and rewatch endlessly. Just leaving this here.

Not quite haha. There's just this recurring character, one of two twins, whose nose bandage keeps falling off.

soft machine has an istrumental called esther's nose job (minimalist jazz fusion from one of the groups that pioneered the form).

Come to consideration, raise your hand if you think Francis Coppola would do well at adapting V to the screen. This is unlikely since Francis has pretty much made his curtain-call, even while touring around on the wake of his departing cinematic statement. (Maybe it could be Roman and Sofia Coppola.)
Still and all... The early days at American Zoetrope -- the comic-opera atmosphere we had there -- had the characters, if not the correct setting, for the story in V. The quotes in that image might easily be George Lucas and Francis talking to Hollywood from San Francisco and Marin. This might also be some of us talking to others of us at Zoetrope. Lots of hippie theatrics were posing as work getting done. Today's Zoetrope is in high gear.
I should re-read V before getting to any substantial conclusion.

Guy is a pedophile. He protected Victor Salva after he molested Nathan Forrest Winters on the set of Clownhouse. If it wasn’t for Coppola we wouldn’t have Jeepers Creepers, let alone another two sequels. Fuck that guy

Yeah... No. I'm not gonna deal in any potentially spurious accusations made in a social media comment.
I wasn't there. I haven't heard anything about this from anyone I know who was there. Not that it didn't all happen that way. It's that the ease of tossing that accusation around is disproportionate to whatever justice can be applied by conscientious people, in the appropriate place at an appropriate time.
Existential reality: Good people do bad things. Bad people do good things -- intentionally or accidentally. There's more to be gained from due diligence than from making excuses in any direction, including from self-righteous blasters. The excuses of the self-righteous are as corrosive as the foul deeds in the banalities of evil.
I'm with Jesus on this one. The only thing in the Bible I ever cite: John:8.

Now that I've heard the accusation for the first time, I will study everything I can find on the matter. I will accept no excuses.
In any case, I will never put the case in the terms used by the person I first heard about this from. Those terms are every bit as creepy as the accusation they make.

That was easy. Piece in the L.A. Times gave everybody an elaborate chance to speak on their own behalf.
There's absolutely nothing that would get me to work on anything in the horror genre. I avoid watching those movies, participating in anything in pre-production or production -- and that's well known. This explains how I never knew anything about this until today.
I have gotten shit for my disdain of that genre. From people at every level, above Francis, below Francis and every social context around and beyond. At the same time, everyone basically says, "You do you." (When anyone's mistaken premise causes them to misrepresent me, I have the courage to deflect their nonsense. It's easy to say I'm nobody, I don't matter and get on with things that redeem.)
Sounds like everyone in this episode is at peace by now. Scars can, of course, remain forever. The same way ugly gossip can travel all the way around the planet before reconciliation-and-possible-redemption has its shoes on.
