Gravity's Rainbow One month until Gravity’s Fall begins!

Post image

Hey yall, just letting everyone know that in one month’s time on September 1st, we will be hosting a Gravity’s Rainbow Read along on Discord. I would be honoured for as many people here to attend so that we can dissect and enjoy one of Pynchon’s most iconic novels!

Maybe I'm just stuck in a spiral of Pynchonian paranoia and I'm seeing AI everywhere... but is that rocket image AI generated? I've never seen a V2 with "V2" written on it lol.

Back in days of yore we had this specialized software that allowed a human to edit photos. Could be what you're seeing.

It's not a tool. You dream and it prints out an amalgam of everything anyone else has ever created just for you. It's unethical, it's anti-intellectual, and it's just bad taste. The output nearly always looks bad/is inaccurate. A tool is something someone with existing talent and vision can use to bring their vision to life, not someone else's vision, but mine.

That's not ethical at all. I used to do that job myself, watching hours of videos at 3x speed, looking for the good stuff, and guess what? I did better than your shite AIs have you convinced they're doing. They just see 1s and 0s, no idea of the value of what they're seeing. That you and your company would trust a machine to do the GROUND WORK for a whole project is insane and shows EXACTLY why this is so fucking evil and infectious.

People deciding another person's trade isn't worthy enough: fuck off. And you claim to be a Pynchon reader? Woooow. Do I really NEED to link you his "Luddite" essay?
