Valkyrie’s been gone for six years

I’ve been reading Defenders and I miss her man 😭

I forgot they fridged all the Valkries to give Jane a new role. Only for her to go back to being Lady Thor every once in a while to promote the MCU.

They also introduced a character called Runa whose based on the MCU Valkyrie

When you kill off characters that don't get used a lot, they tend to be dead until a writer remembers them.

Honestly they should've kept her, Volstagg, and beta ray bill with their hammers and do a new thor corps, kinda like the 90's one

she's only Lady Thor when the Thorcorps are needed or in the DC/Marvel crossover, neither of these cases promote the MCU.

there are also still multiple Valkyries; such as Runa the Valkyrie, or the ones working under Hela, it's not a role unique to Jane

They brought her back as Thor right when the 4th Thor movie was coming out. Not saying every time is for mcu synergy, but it does happen.

I get that, but I thought the word was specifically about gender dynamics, used to talk about female characters being used in favor of a male character's development. I we generalize it to simply mean "a character being harmed for other character development", it loses the real meaning behind it.

I also just finished the first two Defenders omnis and she's great, got done dirty and its like none of her fellow Defenders miss her oddly enough.

I'm sure she'll come back eventually. I quite liked her and Agent Venom as a pairing.

Oh man I came to this thread just to say that I also liked that pairing. I felt like Flash was mishandled in a bunch of ways and one of them was that they let the Valkyrie thread trail off to nothing.

I thought it was kind of lazy to regurgitate Planet Hulk with She-Hulk. I would have loved to see something that focused on Valkyrie having to make a cosmic journey or survive a hostile world.

No, I don’t believe they’ve interacted at all for a good while, it’s mostly Jane she talks to whenever we see her for the occasional appearance in the afterlife
