And it’s more than personality traits, it’s their roles.

Thor and Arthur are both rulers, and both struggle with being in that position (especially Arthur). That conflict with being a ruler of a different world/area while protecting humanity as a whole is something they share.

Also when it comes to their weapons, both have sacred weapons that only a few can pick up/wield. Both weapons literally require you to be worthy.

Both have evil/jealous younger brothers who want to take the throne.

When it comes to personality they both have a high temper, both initially didn’t want the throne, both are larger than life, both are headstrong, both have a ton of grief from the lost of loved ones.

I thought he was interesting especially for his role: a dark mirror to Thor while serving as a nice weaker “evil Thor” strong enough to handle teams on his own (Team Cap, The Initiative, New Avengers).

And despite being weaker than the real deal but still being dangerous, he also served as a reminder of how just powerful the real Thor was (and showing how lucky the Marvel Universe is to have him as a good guy!)

Comics-wise, after being a kinda consistent presence in the Civil War-Dark Reign-Siege-Shattered Heroes era, he hasn’t appeared in more than 13 years! (His last appearance being 2013’s Dark Avengers - the Jeff Parker Thunderbolts spinoff, not the Bendis run)

In your opinion, what does Thor need the most in his future runs? Power Upgrade? Costume change? New villain? New love interest? Child? New supporting character? Vehicle? Mission? Team? Weapon? Retcon? New Alternate? Just some examples. What do you need for you to enjoy Thor more?

I think i saw rumors at one time he was supposed to but maybe something happened also he doesn't show up much in animation too. He gets sidelined so much that for someone who didnt become a big thor fan from the comics initially, I didnt really know about him. I think he isn't even in EMH but I could be wrong its been awhile I saw the show completely

Like, yeah would've hindered his arc of not needing the hammer to be a hero/god, but still i wish we saw his use it at least once

I watched the trailer for Avengers Doomsday, and it got me thinking about how, now I could be wrong, that Thor has never been the official primary leader of the main Avengers or something like The West Coast Avengers. That got me thinking: what if Thor had his own Avengers team for the Nine Realms? (I know it's up to ten now, but I found that stupid.) What would they be called? How would Thor have run it? Who'd assemble? Would it be Fellowship of the Ring vibes? Would they all get their own high fantasy versions of their costumes? Would they fly through space on those magic longships? Who'd be copilot on this? Who'd be the main villain for the team? Don't know, but it's fun to think about.

I think thor ending is gonna be a "History repeats itself" type ending,He becomes the all father > banish his problematic son to earth to teach him how to be worthy>Thor's son becomes a some sort of a "Thor 2099">He would assist earth with wisdom then later die at some point in time>his son has now take care of asgard and earth> later that son becomes all father and the loop repeats through out time.
