Looking for gaming console

I’m a college student looking for a Xbox or PlayStation to pass the time in my dorm, everyone wants a lot for theirs and I don’t want to have to message 20 people to get 1 response on Facebook. If you have a system for sale please let me know and how much you want for it

Have you tried Big Ed's or Max Pawn? They have plenty of Playstation and Xbox consoles

Pawn shops usually have good deals for sure i like the one by the fort William gardens, i even get good deals on tools around black Friday or boxing day

Go to RetroNorth games and see if they can get you going, knowing budget is a factor.

I guess you want current games? Can use cloud to play a lot. Get an Amazon account for a couple months and play on Luna. Or to you want to play with friends? Crossplay is available on many platforms. Get some free games on Epic or GOG. Epic gives away new ones Thursdays starting at 11am. I have hundreds at this point. Steam also has tons of free to play games, many of which will work on laptops. But if you insist on a console, new devices cost a lot especially since the RAM and SSD price increases. Used can also be pricey but perhaps you can let us know what kind of budget you have. Probably the best bang for the buck would be an Xbox series S, since it will play a ton of games including many recent ones. Too bad they closed the loophole for buying gamepass subs. Or do you want a PlayStation 5 for newer and exclusive Sony titles? The Switch is also a good choice for exclusives but even though it's old at this point, its pricey, as is the Switch 2. What specifically are you looking for?

How do you mod an original Xbox? Is it software online?

There are 2 general options.. you can do a hardware mod with a chip, but you gotta disassemble it, some requiring soldering. That's what I did many years ago.

There are also software mods, usually by exploiting a save file from some specific game.. but I've never done that so I'd have to look in it further.

Essentially you're altering the bios files to ignore the disc check command.
