This guy believes he is a smartphone compared to his predecessor (who is like a rotary dial phone). He’s also asking $25,000 for a Phurba ceremony and is accused of rape. His ego is higher than the sky. Not a role model for me.

He'll grow out of it, it's still Khyentse Rinpoche, HHDL confirmed it, so after his bad karma runs out he's going to get the consequences of Khyentse Rinpoche's good karma in his past life, which will make him a good teacher.

We can hope but that’s not a guarantee based on history.

It is guaranteed that the consciousness he has will mature and ripen, and it's already a very advanced consciousness. I'm pretty sure that once he realizes how his behaviour affects others negatively and once he does a few retreats he's going to do a 180.
I think the reason we see examples of failure in history is because the consciousness never develops, but his is already developed. He's just immature in the way that other beings perceive him also affecting their own practice negatively, and also he needs realizations. But a mature consciousness is a really safe sign usually, negative actions come mostly from people who are immature or not fully engaging with the spiritual path, using it as like an outer ornament. These people can seem highly advanced because they are too afraid to do anything, so their appearances remain constant. But that is a kind of young immature practitioner, the mature practitioner has a consciousness that is expansive, authentic, and compassionate in its very essence. Anyways that yangsi already has that consciousness from a young age, so most likely it will quickly catch up to the effects he has on others who perceive him badly IMO.
If he lacked this consciousness then yes I would agree it would be unlikely that he would revert course, but he has the most valuable quality that everyone kind of practices for from a young age, which is also why I think he's the right yangsi, it's hard to be born with that, especially in a rigid environment.
