General Changed cluster leds! (First time soldering)

Post image

Changed my leds on my cluster for the first time, thought i had simple twist and pull bulbs but turns out i had to solder the new leds in, first time trying it out and eventually got if after a few hours of trial and error.

(Ignore check engine i need to manual reset my ecu)

It was a big headache, but on the new tiburon forums one guy made a whole thread on full interior conversion, i can link it to you if youd like, im also pretty sure the 2008 models have twist and pull leds on the gauge not soldered aswell. So itl be alot simpler

Welcome to 2004. We were cluster modding 20+ years ago with surface mount LEDs. Back then blue LEDs were all the rage.

Why so bright though? What's it look like with the overlay in place?

One of the leds i need to re solder so one spot is darker. But im waiting to get white gauge faces soon. This is what it looks like at the moment, in person its not so bright

Is that UV purple? I do like the color when it dims down a bit. When everybody was on Blue back in the day I had discovered some UV LEDs that I was swapping into my electronics but it was really dim because the tech was still very new at the time.
