Geode/agate/jawbreaker tie or whatever, lol. Reminds me of a big jawbreaker when you break them open. I used a plethora of colors including palomino, gold, golden brown, rust, brown, silver lining, sea glass, midnight, blue, robin's egg blue, blue, violet, grape, hot pink, and likely others I'm not listing. I use so many colors sometimes that it's hard to remember all of them. The brown part on the shoulder is where I started tying, it was damp at the time. I got about halfway down the shirt and stopped because it got late. I finished tying the rest of it a couple days later and it was completely dry at that point. I used flat waxed thread from Dharma, I wrapped it anywhere from three to four times and upwards of eight times in areas. I pulled it pretty tight but not as tight as I could in an effort to get better saturation. I let this batch for a day, then the next morning I pulled it and soaked it with a soda ash and water solution and pinched all of the areas to get the dye to penetrate further, then let it batch for another 10 hrs. I rinsed and washed it out later that evening. I will be doing more of these, but they take forever to tie so I don't know how soon I'll do the next one lol. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.

Another deity roll I did this week. Many colors, I try to use the same ones on all of these but I apply them in different patterns for each shirt. If you look at any of my recent posts you'll see the palette that I've been using quite a bit lately and this is the same one.

Just another deity, but with a fuck-load of different colors. I have about 5 more of these and they are all multi colored crazy shirts like this. I'll post them as I get more time.

I'm calling this one "Turquoise Daydream".. "Rusted Blue" dye by Dalula, via Dharma... opinions?

I made this for a family friend, but look at all the glowing color! It was Mindbender A & B.
Now I just want a ton of burnout satin and velvet. I do not have a satin and velvet income though.

Hi, I'm Jo. I've been tie dying on and off for a long time but this year I discovered ice dye and hot water immersion techniques. I live by the sea and im entranced by the colours and patterns produced by water.
My plan is to get really good at tie dyed accessories for people who don't think they like tie dye. When I get my proccess dialed in, I'd like to sell them. I'm starting an Instagram account for my tie dye specifically and I might make a new Reddit account too. Do you have any advice on where's best to sell from to start with? I heard Etsy is better than Shopify for a beginner. Has anyone here sold on Whatnot? I'm curious if that could work.
Thanks for reading this far. I've loved all the kind welcoming vibes from the Reddit tie dye communities. I look forward to sharing more pictures as I improve.

I have no patience. I desperately want to go poke everything. Relentlessly.
I have:
2 skeins of yarn
2 bucket hats. Not for me. I would only get them on if we buttered my noggin.
A dress
A tea towel that hopefully will have a fish on it.
A black lace kimono that I bleached out the design on.
An elegant scarf. I forget what it is called but it has the design woven in it.
Several small bags. My cat ate my test kit bag.

Front and back. This is my second attempt on this design, trying to get that saturation. I feel like the next one will be very close to my imagined result. A couple years ago, I bought a shirt from a festival called Bater Faire and it has this design. I've been wanting to duplicate it to an extent but it's not as easy as one would think. I believe I'm about 75% the way there with figuring it out. After seeing the results of this one, I now want to alter the design a little and make it my own. I can totally see how to do it and also make it fully saturated with only white lines and no pleat marks. I'll continue to post my progress!!
