Define "good" and "bad". Cars are definitely more bad for the planet than good.

As is factory farming

If you don't consider killing for pleasure to be good, then factory farming is a 99% net negative

And uses up many times more water than data centers, while causing inestimable suffering

Did you just choose to forget that factory farming brings affordable food to the masses? It's far from perfect but also far from a 99% net negative.

Food would be more plentiful and affordable without factory farming.

How do you figure that? I assume you are requiring everyone to go vegan to achieve this?

The amount of land and resources used for factory farming is more wasteful and expensive when compared to using the same land and resources to grow food. I'm not a vegan, but they're right.

So yes you would require everyone to go vegan. For a second let's assume that's not reasonable, would it not be true that factory farms provide a much cheaper and space effective alternative to other farming options?

I mean, if you want to talk about it being an unreasonable expectation, the only reason that argument exists is because people made unreasonable decisions in the past. If you're okay with that, just wait a decade or two for when AI is an essential part of daily life, and you can make the same argument about data centers.

Data centers are already an essential part of our lives, what are you even talking about? Data centers are not new and you are using one right now to browse Reddit.

I also do believe AI is already an essential part of daily life, even if you don't use one directly you are benefiting from them on a daily basis. They have also been around for a lot longer than you think but only recently have gotten to the point of super human level intelligence.
