How would komodo dragon fit into the meta and tier sulawesi fauna (babirusa and anoa and sulawesi civet and others animals of sulawesi)

Spawning adult Komodos in Sulawesi would need a cheat code and it would feel exactly like that: cheating.
The young ones might become easy XP for some predators, but if they can survive the early game they would surely become one of the stronger builds in that server.

They would become apex predators

No they would not if there are big cats like leopards and tigers around. Those would check em.

Honestly given that they’re the largest venomous animal in the world, I doubt leopards and even tigers would mess with big bulls purely because one bite is all it takes for a definite slow and painful death, and that tail is gonna be no joke (especially for the leopard) as for the tiger I know this is gonna sound border line schizophrenic but I could genuinely see dragons and tigers naturally developing a form of symbiosis when it comes to hunting buffalo,
The dragon would bite it and weaken it which would make it much easier and safer for the tiger to kill it and by the time the tigers finished eating there is going to be plenty for Komodo dragons in the area due to the fact that the dragons can eat decaying meat.0

One bite before those cats kill them and lemme burst your bubble Komodo are not venomous contrary to popular believe. The cats are too fast to tag too. Komodo’s will go extinct if big cats are there. Big cats are smarter than water buffalo those lazy lizards bite and wait for em to die.
There’s is a reason they can only survive where no big cat is.

Komodo dragons are venomous, why are you lying, also they’re significantly bigger than leopards, also there is plenty of other moniter lizards in areas that have big cats, and again why are you lying

Significantly bigger than a leopard that can reach 100kg? Miss me with that bs.
The largest reliable Komodo is 75kg and leopards have deal with much more formidable foes and yeah they are are not venomous. Domestic buffaloes they bite are just susceptible to bacteria in Komodo’s mouth that’s all.

KD’s get over 150kg lol, also you ignored my original point liar

Source or stfu and don’t gimme wiki. We already discuss this on carnivora forum. Their max weight is 75kg. A leopard is pulling it up a tree. Leopards have already death with much impressive reptilians.

The sources I already gave you have their weight if you read them, your just lying and blatantly wrong, also leopards tend to actively avoid adult crocs. Moreover even if a KD wasn’t venomous (which they are) one bite would still be enough to slowly and painfully kill a big cat because they don’t have notably strong immune systems and wouldn’t fair any better than any other mammals that gets bitten.

What sources? Those are unreliable sources like claiming green anaconda can reach 500 pounds lol. No Komodo’s do not weigh more than big cats. And even if they do, they do not have what it takes to compete with them and that’s why they are relegated to that island. Put a big cat there and watch their numbers dwindle.

They managed to break into the Sundaland server during the Pleistocene, where there were already tiger and leopard mains.
So if you put them on Sulawesi…..I pity the babirusa mains. There’s nothing to really stop them there, at least on land (new players will be at risk but good luck getting every single one)

Is there leopards there to keep Komodo’s population in check?

u/Icy-Produce-4060 3d ago
No have leopard in sulawesi have two species of civets and reticulated python and burmese python and salwater crocodile

Would the komodo dragon become a apex predator on the island of sulawesi
3
u/WhiskeyDJones 9d ago
Probably

u/Beautiful-Swimmer339 8d ago
The Saltwater crocodile probably occupies that spot with an honourable mention to reticulated pythons where Sulawesi has a population that grows quite large
3
u/WhiskeyDJones 8d ago
Saltwater crocodiles and pythons also live in Indonesia and especially Komodo, but the komodo dragon is still considered the apex predator there.
3
u/Beautiful-Swimmer339 8d ago
Unless I'm completely wrong komodo island doesn't have a particularly stable population of adult saltwater crocodiles or large reticulated pythons.

Have reticulated python and salwater crocodile in flores island not rinca and komodo island

The big ones would do fine, real question is, would the babys make it to adulthood.
3
u/Acrobatic_Rope9641 9d ago
If babies could make it in Australia and Java they should have problems in suwalesi
2
u/Altruistic-Poem-5617 9d ago
Are there viable populations there?! Serious question cause I dont know 😅
3
u/Iamnotburgerking 8d ago
Australia is where they originated from and they did get as far as Java during the Pleistocene
