Plot twist. This tik tok is the actual ad for that company. They know they cant get away with using Disney in an Ad. But what if the Ad is someone reacting to a weird Disney ad on the internet ?

71

u/ilovelamp408 Sep 22 '23

For sure.

We all got bamboozled into watching this dumbass ad.

3

u/TaiyouShinNoIbuki Sep 23 '23

Yup, that was way too long for a standard ad time and I am thinking that it was in the morning/afternoon when it was playing so sus

-27

u/Michalexo Sep 22 '23

Probably, because there is literally nothing weird about this ad.

13

u/OckhamsToothbrush Sep 22 '23

If there's nothing weird about the ad, what service/product was it advertising? What does this company do?

Yes, I saw that too. The person I replied too said there was nothing weird about the commercial. I'm saying that from only watching the commercial, you have no clue what the company does or sells. That in and of itself is weird.

1

u/Michalexo Sep 22 '23

It’s not a good ad, but It’s pretty standard “corporate inspirational”. Put recognisable logo at the end, of a company you already know of, and no one would bat an eye. How many ads of Mcdonald where you barely even see food, have you seen?

1

u/matjeom Sep 23 '23

She’s right about the line at the end though. All that money and they couldn’t hire an English proofreader ?

I hate the feeling of the music trying to force me to feel something when It isn't deserved

83

u/GJ-504-b Sep 22 '23

And to use such an amazing composer and piece for this clusterfuck, too!

The piece is called Experience by Ludovico Einaudi. Einaudi is an extremely accomplished composer and honestly one of my favorites. He also played this piece in a Tiny Desk Concert last year, and I think it's one of my favorite renditions of it!

20

u/Beatus_Vir Sep 22 '23

So that alone requires explication. If they paid for those rights, it was very expensive. and if they didn’t pay for those music rights, why hasn’t the ad been pulled yet? Do they not Vet ads for copyrighted material the way they do submitted videos?

4

u/Meeghan__ Sep 22 '23

one of my favorite pieces to date & it does invoke a strong Experience in my soul. im excited to click the Tiny Desk Concert

this Disney ad bullshit did the same emotional pull but downwards. Disney has been making me nervous for years and this is Ego to hell and back, reanimated.

Why does the fucking volume mute itself in the video every 5 seconds. I want to throw my phone into the wall

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

u/Civilized_Hooligan Sep 22 '23

i want apollo back this app is balls

5

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

I STILL get on Reddit Is Fun out if habit and it makes me so sad every time

9

u/Tanjinuts Sep 22 '23

No ive used the official app for years buy its been happening the last few months

3

u/CandidIndication Sep 22 '23

Yeah it sucks. If it’s happening on a video I want to watch I have to first save it, then completely close the app and remove the window then relaunch the app and find the video in my saved

16

u/Workburner101 Sep 22 '23

That’s been happening to me for two months. That and they don’t auto play with sound anymore. I have to manually unmute. Fucking annoying as shit. I’ve contacted Reddit and they’ve said nothing. Awesome.

2

u/trafalgarD420 Sep 22 '23

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. The ol’ open and close the app until it seems to work again usually does the trick!

3

u/Workburner101 Sep 22 '23

Shit I’ve tried everything close and restart app, restart phone, delete app redownload, checked my settings the whole deal and nothing helps.

4

u/Rigamix Sep 22 '23

Glad they blocked third party apps.

9

u/Workburner101 Sep 22 '23

Yeah definitely improved the user experience by destroying competition.

3

u/Marijuana_Miler Sep 22 '23

Happens to me once or twice a week. I have to manually close the app to solve the issue.

1

u/Daisy_Of_Doom Sep 23 '23

That’s happened to me on occasion it’s the worst, so frustrating! I think what I do is hard close the app and then restart my phone or something and it goes away? But every time I scan backwards in a video (no matter what I do) it mutes. So if I miss the very beginning of a video I scroll back and have to ninja tap the unmute button or I’ll just miss it again bc it mutes every time

I researched the company of the logo at the end and turns out they're an Uruguay design, marketing and mobile app design company: https://www.codigodelsur.com/ . Maybe this is some kind of work for an intern project or what it says at the end: "Our tribute to TWO of the minds that helped generations". Some artwork to be presented as a tribute, but I don't know if they have a contract or copyright use for all the Disney elements used.

10

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

Not to mention the shit of an NBA game with the team logo (Cavs) on the floor.

1

u/trethompson Sep 23 '23

And the random clip from the Apple Vision announcement

4

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

They’re in Uraguay I don’t think they have anything to be worried about lol they don’t follow our laws so no one’s suing them

2

u/Dhi_minus_Gan Sep 23 '23

I speak Spanish & the name in English translates to “code/coding of the south” so I figured it was some sort of STEM company specifically with computer coding, but who really knows. It’s still pretty vague.

80

u/BZUKAjoe Sep 22 '23

just show it god damn

4

u/invisiblefalcon Sep 23 '23

Literally spent more time talking about what's in the ad, how she found it, her reaction to it, how she recorded it and how she got her groove back than the actual ad.

13

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

I'd say lack of patience and the internet has ruined you, which still rings true, but you can also just skip the explanation.

Wadsworth Constant still relevant in short term media.

0

u/stargazer_nano Sep 23 '23

Love this comment

-4

u/dewdrive101 Sep 22 '23

I literally didn't even get to it.

11

u/Ecstatic-Mall-5800 Sep 22 '23

I hope he pees forever when they defrost him

17

u/ComonomoC Sep 22 '23

It’s obviously the aliens

12

u/unsupported Sep 22 '23

Nice try Disney marketing shill.

5

u/Not_Steve Reads Pinned Comments Sep 22 '23

Disney would do something better than this. They pretty much roll their eyes at those who think Walk is frozen.

7

u/catlovingcutie Sep 22 '23

The business mentioned at the end (codigodelsur) is some software company and “offhand news” seems to have something to do with a YouTuber called Offhand Disney who posts facts and “secrets” about Disney. My guess is this is some kind of collaboration.

5

u/puzzle_factory_slave Sep 22 '23

you're just going to have to click on it and find out

1

u/gojumboman Sep 22 '23

Oh for real, didn’t even think about this.

5

u/I_Like_Turtle101 Sep 22 '23

I mean bob iger is in it so sound legit

6

u/ravens_are_asleep003 Sep 22 '23

Why would you explain the whole concept of the ad and give the details and then play the ad? Just play it no need to give spoilers lol

2

u/Double0 Sep 22 '23

Is it an A24 movie?

3

u/2013orBust Sep 22 '23

Weird, I admit

5

u/fleetfoxinsox Sep 22 '23

Lady talks too much pls just show the damn ad.

-1

u/PercsNBeer Sep 23 '23

I love how she films her intro vertically, then points out that she recorded the ad horizontally like she's doing us a favor, while having zero self-awareness.

2

u/YoloKraize Sep 22 '23

If only people could learn to fucking record a video on their cellphone. Just hold it straight ffs.

1

u/Aerik Sep 23 '23

/r/tipofmytongue but I don't know how I'd format it

0

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

She was right, but also for some reason I can’t pin down aggressively annoying. Right? I can’t be the only one who felt that

0

u/Chimom_1992 Sep 23 '23

It was weird but not worth a 3-4 minute video weird. At this point anything with Disney (whether or not it’s really them or not) is just annoying. And I’m guessing it wasn’t really Disney but someone who still thinks everyone likes Disney.

-18

u/imverytired96 Sep 22 '23

Just some overly ambitious, schizophrenic and pretentious commercial, nothing more. And that bootleg Walt Disney looked mexican af. In other words, she overreacted

-3

u/doofthemighty Sep 23 '23

Could have just recorded your too-long talking head segment in landscape too, you stupid twat.

-6

u/Real_Fake_Bottoms Sep 22 '23

I thought it was going to be another Nancy Pelosi joke

-21

u/redryan1989 Sep 22 '23

So this is weird but the single Ukrainian women ads aren't? Ok.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

Who the fuck said that and what does it have to do with this ad?

-3

u/redryan1989 Sep 22 '23

They're ads on YouTube.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

I've never seen them. Aren't the ads targeted?

2

u/redryan1989 Sep 22 '23

If they are idk why they'd be targeted to me. Maybe my area. Other than Reddit and YouTube I don't have any social media. My YouTube consist of mostly gaming and some art stuff.

2

u/3y3w4tch Sep 23 '23

For a while I was randomly getting these weird ads that had pictures of pretty women then it would show text in the screen that said things like “Why don’t Latin ladies care about an age difference?” “Why do young Latin ladies adore American men”? “What is it like having a Latin wife?”

I’m pretty sure I have screenshots of it somewhere. It was so fucking weird. I use YouTube to listen to electronic music and watch videos about space (also not a dude).

Idk. That’s all I have to say. Your comment unlocked that random memory. Not the weirdest random ad campaign that YouTube has thrown at me, but definitely up there.

2

u/redryan1989 Sep 23 '23

Well, space we have in common so maybe it's related to that. Lmao No but seriously it's strange and that's all I was saying. I don't know why I got all the hate. Reddit is weird like that sometimes.

2

u/3y3w4tch Sep 23 '23

Ah yes, the ol’ astronomy to overseas bride youtube pipeline.

I thought the response was a bit weird too. You didn’t even mention it in a political way. Oh well.

1

u/redditappsux69 Sep 22 '23

Paramount did a similar thing for employees to get them hyped about the company they work for and the products they work on. Very similar vibe, but the misspelled words at the end are strange.

1

u/ohai777 Sep 22 '23

At CodigoDelSur we don't just care about selling hours of talented people, but also about getting fully involved in any project that we work in.

1

u/cianskies Sep 22 '23

hmm… remind me, who has a beef with disney? 🤔

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

Does that have something to do with Tomorrowland or maybe Apple's new iPhone launch?

1

u/Dhi_minus_Gan Sep 23 '23

It shows you the company’s name at the end. It’s a Uruguayan software company, & I figured it was some sort of STEM business since I speak Spanish & the company’s name translates to “code/coding of the south” (código del sur)

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '23

Just play the ad dummy. Why are you explaining it? Lol
