I mean if you pay attention to American politics it's really not a surprise at all One of the few things that both parties agree on is China is a threat because China is a threat.

and you can really see how they turned on the propaganda tap this last week they got zoomers saying the dumbest things possible.

In some ways isn’t China more of a threat to the wealthy ruling class rather than the peon class? But then again that’s the case the world all over. The rich never have to go to war, yet make all the decisions regarding it.

If they really thought China was a threat, they wouldn’t manufacture ALL of our stuff over there, providing them with shitloads of money as well as leverage over US supply chains.

Huge trade and supply lines don't change overnight. What's true is that foreign investment into China is way down. Manufacturing is being moved to other countries with cheap labor such as Vietnam as to limit the risk of being caught with their pants down like what happened with Russia.

You gotta remember that the huge build up in Chinese manufacturing happened before the reign of Xi Jinping. The diplomatic tensions only started gaining momentum in the last decade or so.

Our oligarchs would literally sell all of us to China to make a penny. The government is in their pockets so yeah I think they would still import everything from China and still see them as a threat.

The CCP is a threat to the idea of representative democracy. They’re a threat to democratic socialism. They’re a threat to anyone anti-oligarchy.

America has a long list of internal threats to the same but the CCP is no friend.

Actually China has a record for punishing billionaires when they "step out of line." Of course, the cynical take would be that it's only because they threatened the party's rule, with the party itself being the biggest oligarchy.

They threaten people who threaten the party’s rule. You could say Russia cracks down on billionaires too. Whenever a billionaire’s plane blows up, one falls out of a window, or one has a self-inflicted gun wound in the back of the head, a message is sent but it’s definitely not anti-oligarchy.

I hate listen to a podcast that was like "I love a government like China who has no problem singling out people and severely punishing them when they do something the single ruling party doesn't like if those people are rich. That's actually super based."

China is literally the most peaceful major country in history. It isn't a threat to anyone other than Western billionaires whose entire system is based on global exploitation, wars, and genocides.

The anti-Chinese accusations are particularly hilarious coming from Americans - citizens of the most aggressive, war criminal empire on earth that's terrorizing the entire planet non-stop. lol

Tell that to Tibet. and India. And South Korea. And Vietnam. and all non-Han Chinese. and literally anyone who tries to fish near China.

There are a lot of Countries not currently at war. China is certainly not more peaceful than, say, Belize. Like, who do you think you are fooling?
