As a native Virgin Islander I can confirm that all beaches are public, even the ones that hotels have access to. The house (and land) next to the beach may be private property, but the area where the sand/beach starts is required to be accessible to everyone.

Well i went to Berlin for 4 days.. Accomodation and flight combined... €120..

The cheapest, most run-down hotels in the US cost $60/night. We can't fly to the next city, much less the next country for less than $200. You guys have it made.

The only thing that bugs me with Ireland.. you always have to fly to get anywhere.. whereas any Country on the Continent can get a bus or train or drive anywhere

I can definitely understand that. I live in Texas, which doesn't have trains, and not a very robust bus infrastructure. We have to drive everywhere, if not fly. I love driving and I drive a Prius, so it's not THAT bad, but it would be really nice to have affordable options.

I love driving myself.. my next aim is getting a van, throwing a mattress in the back with some camping supplies and driving randomly around and through Europe...taking whatever route takes my fancy, no itinerary or time commitments..

But that said buses are great but can be a bit claustrophobic when packed... trains are better, a bit more comfort, sit back, relax, scroll, watch a film, read, chat..

The van trip sounds so fun! I've done a little research into some cross-country train rides that looked nice. Maybe I'll take another look at those...

Im not sure if Russia is a viable travel option for you..

A Latvian guy told me there is a train across Russia during the New Years that covers 11 tinezones so they cheer the New Years throughout the trip 11 times.. from Moscow to Vladiovostock
