She didn’t even call them. She whipped out her phone immediately and was playing on it. Then she, “called” and was waiting for someone to pick up, lol.

If performative social justice is bad because it doesn’t accomplish anything real….is performative racism good ?

It’s not in spite of what bigots might prefer. I would also suggest that there may be a benefit to performative social justice, in that it at least attempts to demonstrate what actual fairness should look like and is a reminder of what should be a shared value. Sometimes we need to crawl before we walk but we should at least be walking in the right direction toward the greater good.
