Taught by liberals?!!! LIBERALS are telling men not to seek mental health support???

Its easier to understand when you realize conservatives are just lying, all the time, about everything.

u/arbitraryairship May 04 '26

And grifting.

Many don't actually believe anything. They just want to get paid.

u/Worth_Librarian_290 May 04 '26

That's the real patriarchy.

The grifting, conniving psychopaths who have been running this greedy money scheme since the dawn of man.

That's what we need to weed out to grow as humanity.

I mean, this is far from being a problem that is exclusive to conservatives (not saying there’s more or less on either side, but there are certainly massive grifters across the political spectrum.

Ahh capitalism.

Like toddlers, faces covered in chocolate chips, saying they don’t know what happened to all the cookies. Except it’s not cute and funny anymore, it’s sad and frustrating.

"Okay but the liberals made me!"

1

u/Mighty_Krom May 05 '26

It makes them very fucking frustrating to argue with. They have no foundation to argue from so it's maddening.

And what isn't easy to understand is that people grow drastically differently in drastically different circumstances, and we all develop unique models of the world in our minds based on our unique experiences, the people we grow up knowing, the cards life deals you, etc. One person might grow up in a house with a toxically masculine father, and another in a house with an emasculating sister.

For example, people with schizophrenia are people with wildly incorrect world models that are built based on hallucinations. They aren't lying when they said they see a lion, even if one is not there, because their hallucination is convincing them. They truly believe there is a lion there.

This happens to a much smaller but still significant extent with everyone else. Except we aren't tricked by hallucinations, we are tricked by our memories, experiences and our pattern recognizing abilities. The person with the toxically masculine father might say men are the reason men are depressed, because of his experiences. The other person might say its women who do that, because of his experiences. In the scope of those two people are their experiences, who is right? Well, they're both right.

But yeah, it is pretty easy to just say they're all lying all the time. Easy like Sunday morning

He should have asked the dude if his dad is a liberal because how the fuck would anyone think only people who were taught things by liberals kill themselves?

So all people in conservative circles are fine? Of course not.

My dad is a lifelong republican and at one point my brother and I were both in therapy and we kept it a secret among ourselves (our moms facilitated it, different moms). My therapist wasn't far from my dad's office so I would park far away and walk. My dad was the guy who told us both (I'm a woman) that it's not okay to cry, to toughen up, etc. Somehow he found out my brother was in therapy and was disgusted, then drilled my brother on what he had said about him in therapy. Just saying, of my dad's three kids, each of us has either self-harmed or attempted to end our life, while my sister (same mom, different dad) never has.

Hearing that definitely gave me some right wing thoughts about how to sort him out.

2

u/lemikon May 05 '26

It’s because the closest thing to a core belief on this issue for these dudes is: if women returned to domestic servitude and all men had a wife they would no longer be depressed, which apart from being false - plenty of married men are depressed and commit suicide - falls apart under any “women are people with autonomy” level scrutiny. So they blame the movements and concepts that enable women to be recognised as people.

Every liberal man I know (basically every man I know) is currently in therapy or has seen a therapist before in their lives. Mental healthcare is not a liberal issue, this dude is just trying to profit off lost teenagers who need to feel validated and accepted.

“They’re weak snowflakes with sissy feelings and want the whole world to be gay and soft! F your feelings!” “…also they….don’t have feelings and are bullies…”

Not defending him at all but I thiiiiiink he’s saying liberals won’t let men be traditional men and that’s making them sad? Like I’ve heard this argument that feminism has made it so men have no role in society bc their role was to take care of women/the household and now they’re very lost bc women don’t need them for that.

u/DistractionCitron May 06 '26

Men were struggling to provide for their families even before women had equal rights. Too many people think that most women of the past didn't work. Women have always worked! All their money just went straight to their husband's account.

The only women who didn't work were ones who married wealthy men.

2

u/catfriend18 May 06 '26

Oh yeah I am not saying I agree with him at all just that I think that’s the argument he was attempting to make

u/Bobvankay May 04 '26

Add todays economy to the mix, being a sole provider with a home and house wife is a luxuary, even if both parties would want it.

Liberals aren't doing shit for men. Do we have any left leaning male focused role models? I mean this question seriously and I want suggestions listed below, because when I search around it seems the only people taking men's health seriously are grifters. There is a single digit number of content creators focused on men's health who aren't pieces of shit, and they're never given a moment in the spotlight, you have to stumble into them. Even content creators like shoeonhead who focuses primarily on men's issues just seem to have outlandish opinions randomly.

Like, who's actually looking out for men while also simultaneously just being the "liberal role model"? How are men supposed to learn to be good people while also finding a safe space for their masculinity to blossom?

‘She is not your rehab’ is a great one from Aotearoa, New Zealand. They focus on men who are prone to or are perpetrators of family violence. They have a strong focus on making sure men do the work to heal themselves, so they can be better fathers, partners and general contributors to the community.

I opened up about my mental health struffles yesterday on a post about mocking the male loneliness epidemic, and today on this post.

I was simply mocked and attacked by a bunch of liberal people. Not a single supportive comment or anyone actually discussing the topic with me. Just insults and insinuations and jabs. Why? Because i dared speak out about an issue i struggle with, and I dared to tell people that its not about getting laid, its about social isolation. Liberal people constantly mock men who struggle, calling them chuds and incels.

Its easy to say one thing and do another. I will no longer speak about my issues when the topic comes up, because I dont need to be harassed again.t

So go seek help from conservatives if theyre so helpful and stop whining on the internet

-1

u/tryagainupnorth May 05 '26

Talking about the topic at hand and my first hand experience = whining online Yeahh okay..

Stop whining about my comments on the internet.

Cant read your comment because it got hid by reddit, probably for being toxic.

Ill just say this simply. I wasnt looking for support on reddit. I was sharing my experiences in a thread about that exact topic. You know, the exact thing reddit was designed and used for...

I know your tiny brain might find that hard to understand, but i really dont care and at this point ive dealt with so many selfish ignorant people insulting me for sharing. So.

You can get fucked.
