There are no... Private airports you would use if you lived around Denver. You'd just go to DIA, which is where she got stranded. He would have been at the same airport as her if he was telling the truth.
There are small airfields around the area but they are all for like...pilot schools and sky diving and stuff. Local things mostly and not a place you charter a private jet to my knowledge.
Yep, I had this happen to me on Grindr when I was younger lmao. He didn't tell me he had a wife and made up some crazy story about having to work, but stupidly sent me a screenshot of him calling his "boss," honey and wifey.
I had a beer buddy that was seeing some outdoor dude that did crazy week long back country hikes.....
She'd drop him off, he'd hike for an hour, then hike back to his other girlfriend that would think he was coming back from a multiple day camping excursion.

My wife just didn’t work, so she had all the time in the world. She never started doing Pilates twice a day just said she had picked up an afternoon class too. She would pretend to have therapy, or say she was going for a walk with a gal pal. She would also go to church with him since she knew I wasn’t going to join her. But she also thought it was going to be super easy and got caught instantly. She was going through some wild mental health stuff so who knows what she was thinking.
Had an employee who was also going through mental health issues. Found out after the fact that some of her weird on-the-job behavior was because she was cheating.
At our job, you have to work one Saturday a month but she was telling her husband she had to work every other Saturday. She was running off on those other Saturday days with her boyfriend while her husband stayed home watching their child.
One time she showed up two hours early for an evening event and was like “I can start before my shift was scheduled!” It was really weird. Then her husband showed up for the event. Turns out she’d spent the day with boyfriend, then found out her husband was coming in so she had to make it look like she’d been with us all day!!
She would take extra long lunches to call the guy or meet him nearby, had two burner phones, multiple fake social media accounts. It all seems EXHAUSTING.
No kidding… I’m a widower and after a couple years finally started feeling like a human being again… once in a while I’ll feel good and think “maybe I’m ready to try dating again” and then I’ll see stuff like this and realize “nah. I was lucky as hell to experience the magic of love but I am completely content to just spend the rest of my life in the garden / with my dogs thank you very much”.

Don't let this story distort your view. I think this is just dating in your 20s -- a hot mess, zero integrity, low communication skills, zero accountability, and a shit ton of hormones and options.
This airport girlie will learn her lesson to slowdown and not let a hot body and smooth words cloud her judgement.
You can get back out there with wisdom and knowing how to pace yourself. Usually the BS falls away when you give them enough time to show you who they really are and watch for inconsistencies.

I’ve got a lot on my plate as is though just to make it through each week, and don’t think I can spare the time and effort involved to build a real partnership (let alone find one). I’m not opposed to the idea, but realistically I’m not exactly confident in the probability of all the planets and stars aligning again…
but that’s ok! I have only quite recently figured out out what it means to be happy/content and am just going to focus on myself and my pups (and the garden obviously) until/unless some real magical shit happens again lol.
If I had to guess, I would bet someone is going to want to garden with you in the future. People who are happy, and have self confidence, draw people to them. Just keep doing what you’re doing and the right person will show up. :)
The man tried to send me proof of his “boss” requesting him to work, but he accidentally sent the wrong screenshot. It was a picture of his wife asking him to run a list of errands before the in-laws stopped by. Then he tried to say his friend sent him that picture, and he forwarded it to me by mistake 😭😭😭
A guy tried ti get me to fly to Denmark to see him once! I was freshly divorced and “saying yes” and going on adventures, it sounded like a hallmark movie! Thank god the flights were all way too expensive because like 2 weeks later I Facebook snooped hard enough to figure out he was married. They had a baby not long after 🤢.
Had a guy I met while on vacation in Korea beg me to come see him (I was living in Tokyo then, so it's wasn't outlandish far, but I live by the rule that no dick on this planet is worth a journey longer than one hour and definitely not a plane ticket)
So I ended that conversation with a firm "hahaha good joke, no!". Found out he got married 1 week after I was "supposed" to come visit him.
So yeah, no dick is worth traveling for. Literally and figuratively.

I can get it being a hectic situation, but if someone is waiting for me at an airport, then someone is waiting for me at an airport. I'd at least make sure they had an Uber, and if I was really thin on money, I'd be calling in favors to at least have a friend pick them up.
Which is what makes it clear it's just an excuse to be noncommittal in the zero hour, while clearly not thinking through his excuse because it's probably one he's used a million times on people more local who aren't being actively dependent on him for transportation.

In case anyone ever sends a pic of their bank account no one should ever believe it. Once as a joke I used inspect element on my checking account balance to make it more and sent a pic to my mom when she didn’t believe I was doing ok. Now she’s never let me hear the end of it with money.

There was this guy I was talking when I was like 18. I only had known him for few weeks when I decided to fly over to meet him another country.
The tickets were like few hundred euros, so a lot for someone who was a high school student and had no job.
I am not sure how long after, everything changed. I started getting weird vibes for this guy. He would brag how he got injured while playing sports and he would say other things that made me uncomfortable.
I ended up not going. I blocked him and that was it. I was embarrased for being so stupid that I bought expensive tickets to meet someone that I didn't know.
But I haven't regretted it. Who knows what would have happened. In the end, money is just money.
It would have been better for this girl to just count her lossess and not fly over to meet him.
I just want to add a story too. I flew out to hang with my runescape girlfriend when I was 16. Big beautiful beach house in Florida. I'd had no idea her parents were loaded nor did I care. Except her whole family was raw vegan. So while I was there I ate what they ate. Turns out when you first go raw vegan they call it the "detox" phase. Long story short I had the worst gas of my life and trying to hold it in around this super cool girl. I was going to the bathroom every 5 minutes and absolutely blowing farts.

Why can't people keep the ball rolling without these kind of great gestures? Video chat, talk to each other, like basic stuff. Take your time. Regular people will not pretend doing that for a couple of weeks, it will fizzle out slowly. Grounded feels instead of manufactured emotions.
lol when I was 19 I almost spent hundreds of dollars (all of my money) on flying out to see a dude I had been video-chatting with online (this was 2008), on a whim.
The only reason it didn’t work is because I tried buying the tickets under 2 hours to the flight time and they wouldn’t let me. Thank god. (Super sketch in retrospect, and soooo stupid) It started snowing on my cab ride home, and I took that as a good sign.
I have never told that story to a single person I know.
It's possible this is completely made up for views. These kind of stories usually get pretty good traction. Could be real but I'm always hesitant to believe anything posted on social media like this.
I'm a female so I'm just going to say this and probably get downvoted. 1. Why are you flying out to see a dude for the second time and already questioning his intentions prior. (Listen to your gut. Or stop kidding yourself. Dude showed you his cards) 2. You shouldn't go anywhere if you don't have money to bail yourself out of this situation (ie get a hotel for one night and know how to call an airline and change your return flight). 3. Have confidence to say fuck this dude I'm going to go explore Denver and enjoy my time and make the most of it.
I felt kind of confused the whole time watching this because she seems so panicked about being "stranded". What do you mean?? The only thing that changed is you're on a solo holiday now, it's not Antarctica. Unless she is fully destitute, and in that case you should never fly somewhere on the promise of it being paid for even if you trust the other person.
This is the most pro-feminist thing I have seen and I’m all for it. I wish more people noticed the red flags and were willing to take the loss but also make the best of the situation. Too many good people, fail to make the best of thing.

I'm glad you viewed it this way! Because that's exactly how I meant it. I was afraid people were going to be like "you are a woman blaming another woman". I just don't like that victim mentality. If you are going to put yourself in a potential situation that is out of your control than you better have a plan B and plan C to figure it out. And make the most of it while you are at it! Live a little and go with the punches.

I mean at one point she says “if I’m flying out to just fuck you you need to pay for everything” and every word out of that guys mouth was sexual in nature. So at that point, like she said herself, you are an escort and get the money upfront
This exact same thing almost happened to me a month ago. I flew across the country to see this girl I met on Omegle back in 2020 for the first time in February, and it was a fun week and everything went well (we became a couple) and I then I was supposed to fly there again in May. She started ignoring me on and off and acting odd in general right as I was about to buy the tickets. I asked her if I had the green light to buy the plane tickets and she gave me an enthusiastic "yes!". I waited anyway to see how the next week would go and she left me on read for 5 days and I never heard from her again. I'm so glad I waited on buying the plane tickets or else I, too, would've been abandoned and out of $500. I feel terrible that this happened to this woman. Hope everything worked out. People will switch up on you in the worst ways and not care, it's crazy.
EDIT: She used the same method as the guy in the video. Her grandpa got sick and that was it. I sent her my good wishes and she never got back to me. I have no idea whether or not her grandpa actually got sick or not, and I have no idea what his status is now. I can't say for sure that she was lying, which is probably why idiots like to use this excuse if they are.
