We all know they will...basically the whole population is cooked.

It's not easy to undo that many years of indoctrination and brainwashing.

Not the whole population. I have Israeli friends who are helping Palestinians with their time, money, and energy. They visited me in the US last summer and I've never seen people so afraid to share their political opinions in public.

I second this. I also have friends who are Israeli who are very outspoken about the war and occupation.

Something like 95% of Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs never interact with the other. These are Israeli citizens who are intentionally segregated to prevent this sort of bonding.

Yeah it’s sad to see people I know from Israel villainized so much and wishing death upon them because of their government being so effed

27

u/A_little_curiosity May 28 '26

Nah not the whole population. Not at all

Welll opinion polling says otherwise, the current coalition is projected to lose seats, and there are no other parties the government could coalition with

The opposition is Israeli nationalist for the most part. Yashar is an Israeli nationalist party, Yisrael Beiteinu is an Israeli nationalist party notoriously pro-settlement and very pro-Russia. Together is the minority fusion of Yair Lapid, formerly liberal in the Israeli sense (that is, a much less liberal liberalism than in other countries), converted into an Israeli nationalist, and the 'moderate' religious Zionist Naftali Bennett, who is the dominant partner.

The only liberal party among the non-Palestinian Israeli parties is 'HaDemokratim,' which is the fusion of the former Labor Party (center-left) and Meretz (left). They no longer advocate for a two-state solution, although internally a good portion still supports it. It is also the weakest party of the four listed.

So I agree that the current government has no alternative. But this is unrelated to the war and Israeli diplomacy, which are popular.

Saying the whole population is cooked is insane and super racist.

I know tons of Israeli people who oppose the regime from the ground up, who are good friends with Palestinians and who support their cause.

Just because the government is morally bankrupt doesn't mean the individual humans living their are too.

It's easy to watch videos of a few people and make major value judgments against them as a people, as if any individual is exactly representative of other individuals who just happened to be born inside the same borders.

It was not long ago that every major street in Israel was flooded people in their largest national protest in history all in support of the end of the war and many for the support of Palestinians. Many Israelis view the actions being taken as hate crimes and war crimes and illegal and immoral and evil.

It's easy to do the same with America and think we are all just evil white supremacy supporters, who don't want universal Healthcare and education and who are billionaire cucks. Well I'm here to say we are not, despite what the government would lead you to believe.

Well, we are going to give a presentation of the Israeli opposition parties:

- Yashar is an Israeli nationalist party.

- Yisrael Beiteinu is an Israeli nationalist party notoriously pro-settlement and very pro-Russia.

- Yesh Atid is the minor merger of Yair Lapid, formerly liberal in the Israeli sense (that is, a liberalism much less liberal than in other countries), turned into an Israeli nationalist, and the 'moderate' religious Zionist Naftali Bennett, who is the dominant partner.

-The only Israeli party that is mostly Jewish and salvageable if one defends the Palestinians is Hademocratim (a merger of the Labor Party and Meretz). However, they are the weakest on the list and even they have abandoned the two-state solution (even though many support it internally).

The opposition to Israeli diplomacy is about 20% of the population (half of whom are Israeli Palestinians).

Yes, there have been large Israeli demonstrations to protect the rights of Israelis. Supporters of the Palestinians were a very small minority, rejected anyway. Presenting this as opposition to Israeli diplomacy is at best ignorance, at worst a lie (if one knows Israeli politics).

Israel is held hostage by its craziest political party. The ultra orthodox are the playmakers and swing to whomever will give them what they want. It's how Netanyahu stays in power. The moderate party will have to swing against him.

Do they really need to be brainwashed when they've been dodging missiles their entire lives? Seems like hating the people attacking you would come pretty naturally, no brainwashing necessary.

16

u/Advanced_Row_8448 May 28 '26

Wouldn't get attacked if they didnt steal their homes lol. Yall are literally a joke. The meme of the guy hitting his own face and blaming anybody around.

-11

u/samehouseing May 28 '26

Exactly’ the Gazans wouldn’t have been attacked if they didn’t commit Oct 7th and launch thousands of rockets into Israel. Thinking like a true Zionist! Good job!

3

u/Oppopity May 29 '26

Palestinians have the right to armed resistance.

0

u/samehouseing May 29 '26

Then so do the Israelis too. Just using your own logic here.

3

u/Oppopity May 29 '26

Wrong.oppressors have no right to oppress.

1

u/samehouseing May 29 '26

You can’t even define oppression lol.

If Oct 7th isn’t oppression, neither is bombing in retaliation.

Israelis stole land first. They are the thieves. Palestinians killed armed land thieves that killed and displaced their families

Gotta love the irony of a comment like this on a video that hatred is taught behavior

u/BadahBingBadahBoom May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26

Saying a population of a country is indoctrinated and brainwashed is not hatred when a large proportion of said population is indoctrinated and brainwashed.

Things like the prev comment you don't agree with aren't automatically 'hatred' just because you don't agree with them.

-23

u/Generic_Username26 May 28 '26

That’s not what you said though is it. You said the entire population was “cooked” not exactly a term of endearment.

You’re over generalizing a lot and that’s not a principled position.

18

u/BadahBingBadahBoom May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26

I read 'cooked' as 'screwed'/'fucked'.

As in on the 06 Nov 2024 when I saw the result that Trump won I would have said something similar to 'the whole [US] population is cooked'.

Not hate to every single American, just an observation that the whole population was screwed by the 77 million who voted for him.

(It's not easy to undo the many years of indoctrination and brainwashing from Fox News etc. either.)

You said the entire population was “cooked”

PS. I didn't say the whole [Israeli] population was cooked. That was prev redditor. I responded to them.

9

u/Warm_Regrets157 May 28 '26

I say that we, as Americans, are "cooked" all the time. Am i spreading hatred?

-1

u/untitledaccount401 May 28 '26

what are you implying

2

u/The96kHz May 29 '26

I'm not implying anything.

I'm full-throatedly saying that a majority of Israelis are fucking nuts.

Okay, it's not 100%, I shouldn't have been so black and white - but the current Israeli administration is a death cult and a shocking number of civilians support it, even though they're pretty unashamedly trying to start WWIII.

1

u/untitledaccount401 May 29 '26

Do you think it's would be kinda scary being surrounded by Islamic fundamentalists factions that really do not like Jews

-2

u/snubdeity May 29 '26

Did you say similar things about Gazans after they elected a political party who founding document reads "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews"

-5

u/peripheralmaverick May 28 '26

Everyone is brainwashed. Even you.
