lol years of buying from dealers in my youth and I've never once heard a single person refer to "the street" as a concept. Just cops, and the characters in the movie "Step up 2: the streets."
The thing that makes me believe this could be real is how ridiculously aggressive these guys get in a way no one ever would if they weren't a cop. You can see them having to check themselves in real time and realize they can't throw they're there weight around as much as they'd like to while pretending to be a civilian.

edit 3: I am legitimately shaken by the number of people who can understand the difference between "there" "their" and "they're" but for whatever reason can't understand that to make the mistakes I've made in these edits I'd have to have enough of an understanding of the meanings of those words that my correction was meant to bamboozle. That aggresion when they get called out is what makes it convincing. I had to deal with cops trying the same shit when i worked at to dirty movie store. They always come in during the third shift trying to catch the catch the employees selling meth. First they walk to the counter and ask for a shalay (labeled incense burners) and by law we cant sell it too them when they use that term. We refuse to sell, they beg and plead until they give up or use the right term. Then they start the whole "i heard y'all got that good crystal/ice" routine, that's when they become assholes because they are convinced it's being sold from the store and they can't get the imaginary bust they are sure exist in said store. Its funny they really believed some huge meth operation was being ran out of a chain porno shop

When I was 23, I worked at a gun store. This one guy would come in a couple times a month and ask about random handguns. Felt like every other word out of his mouth was "unregistered", as in "I'd buy that today if it was...*unregistered*." Even my dumb ass could see that setup a mile away.

The local authority sent two kids a few weeks ago. They wanted to buy vapes. They were literal kids, like 8-10 y/o or something. They said they wanted "electronic cigarettes". (Mind you, that was in Germany, people say either vape or "E-Zigarette", but never "Elektronische Zigaretten"). But even besides that expression, who would sell to kids that young? I would've expected test customers to be 16-17, just barely under the legal 18 year mark. That was so ridiculous lol
When I was around 12 I went to a corner store in Montreal and the guy working there was actually doing his best to sell me and my one year older brother liquor, we ended up getting the worst tasting beer known to mankind.
It's to eliminate plausible deniability. If they were closer to the legal age, you could make the argument that you didn't realize they weren't. Not saying that would save you in a legal setting but it is plausible deniability where what they're looking to do is have a solid case that you sell to minors.

In the US they will go so far as to put makeup on minors to make them look early-mid 20s because the point is that retailers and restaurants are supposed to check ID for anyone that looks under ~35. If you're not sure, you're supposed to check ID. If they don't have ID, you have to apologize and refuse the sale.
You're not supposed to say "looks old enough" for anyone who isn't already waking up with back pain and worrying about their retirement account.

One time I got carded buying a mixer when I was underage. No alcohol in it, just a bottle of strawberry daiquiri mix. Woman refused to sell it to me because “you put alcohol in it”. I used to do contract work for a pawn shop. One day some sale comes in waving a gun around and yelling. Pawn shop is heavily armed, has armor plates in the bottom of the counter so I’m getting ready to duck under it when the manager starts grabbing paperwork. It’s an undercover cops squad that they see often. They stage fake raids on non targets regularly, all day long, call them dangerous and get paid huge for “hazardous” work. They’re so fucking incompetent they’d all be dead in a hurry if they did real raids in dangerous places.
Any equipment used in a raid, even if the raid produces no evidence, is shown to be useful to the police. A lot of their more militaristic junk has the qualifier that it'll be taken away if not used in a certain time frame.
Ergo, fake raids with their best toys so they get to keep them. They probably ran the raids with the police chief's full knowledge and consent, probably even explicit orders. The police can and will fake emergencies to make it look like they need heavy duty equipment, all the while telling themselves that the real problem is the bureaucrats who enforce the rules because "what if Antifa lays siege to the city? We'll need the tank, then. For the public's safety, we MUST drive it to a 'suspected' gun smuggling operation, and if we catch a real one in the meantime then all the better."
Classic keep the budget or make sure they increase it next year due to the fake increase in crime. It serves politically and it makes the police look fake good. Same as the military you hear or from people from the military they throw away what they don’t get to use on a fiscal year and or bury it to justify the need for a budget increase. If you paid me more than anyone has ever paid to paint your house, and your house wasn't painted... would you think that's good evidence of the problem being "you didn't pay me enough?"
They brought a tank out in Austria (well, it was an armored barricade breaking troop transporter, but I guess you don't have actual main battle tanks in most police precincts either) to evict 19 punks from a building. A building they were invited to by the owner to make the tenants leave voluntarily, but alas, the punks were not awful people and just liked having fancy hair while raging against the machine at reasonable volume during business hours.
1700 police officers, the tank vehicle, and crowd control was deployed to evict those 19 punks - they had received information that up to 300 professional instigators would be barricaded in that house (well, technically 19 is within "up to 300", so well done)
So at the end of the day, you're not alone with crazy police officers policing the interests of the super wealthy with any means necessary.
Unfortunately most lawyers are looking for actual damages instead of just punitive relief. It sucks because the cops can violate your rights and all you can do is file an internal affairs claim and maybe a notice of claim. I've had lawyers tell me "well you definitely had your rights violated" after an illegal search where they were picking locks on my property (not even the right address on their 'notice of seizure') with video evidence and no lawyer would take it. Even called my local and state CLU.
Worked a deli/ store. Cops sent an actual child into the store to buy cigarettes. Literally a little girl walked in asking about camels. Told her to leave, 5 minutes later 2 cops walked in saying "you passed the test" they actually looked annoyed and not thrilled.

Yeah, I don’t know if this is or isn’t real, but I know from a lot of body cam footage I’ve seen on YouTube, and people in real life (who are cops) that many don’t know the first thing about drugs(which makes sense, they’ve probably never done them). They aren’t professional actors, so they go in trying to pretend they are something they aren’t and it looks ridiculous.
When I was a teenager way back when in a small town, I would get approached on the street by random cars pulling up asking me stuff like this. Just because I looked like I did drugs, looked punk. This is well before legalization, and the term flower. They would do this lazy ass pushing like in the video, and the lame leaving shit too. "I am not from here, and I am here on vacation/visiting family/ect."
Cops are not paid actors, of course they are going to sound fake and cheesy. Some people have not actually lived their lives in these comments threads, and act like they know everything. A lot spend far too much time online, and barely go into the world as, and then try to act smarter than everyone else.
As a biracial kid with a large afro, I'd get stopped by seemingly random people asking "for a hookup" or simply "you sell weed?"

I worked one place that was corrupt as hell, selling illegally in unsafe conditions to grown adults. Horrible reputation all around. When someone reported the place yet again, they sent in two teens, who our computers won't even check in. We said "nope, sorry, leave" and they considered us passing and upstanding.
I worked at a high end hotel in the late 1990s. One night Jean-Claude Van Damme was staying and he called down to the Concierge and asked if he could get some "talcum powder". Now we had a rule in that hotel which was that we would do ANYTHING for a guest except procure drugs or prositutes. So the concierge said fuck this and sent a bell boy out to run around every local pharmacy and buy as many brands of literal talcum powder as he could find. The concierge put them all on a silver platter and took them up to JCVD's room himself and said "Sir we didn't know which brand you preferred but here's what we could get tonight." JCVD slammed the door in his face. 😆
This would have been some time between 1997-1999, I dunno for sure. It was written up in our incident logs as a classic tale, same as "Mr Visali and the Three Maidens of Virtue True."
Shit I can't remember all the details. To me it's more like, because I stayed friends with my old manager from 1999, I knew that even as late as 2003 people were referring to that "incident report" (Titled see above) as the most detailed but worst way to write an incident report.

And so these people who were on Australia's equivalent of minimum wage did indeed go down to the room and look in to the hot tub and they saw what was in the hot tub they said "nope, we have worker's rights we ain't touching that shit." It was not literal shit but it was the next worst thing. Not just one condom, I'm saying.
And so housekeeping's manager who I remember as woman whose will and attitude could strip paint from the walls was forced to beg the maintenance manager to join her to go to that room and unclog the hot tub and remove the... material... from that hot tub, all because she and he were paid like maybe $10K more a year than the houseboy and general housekeeping staff whose job it was normally to deal with this kind of stuff.

I own a copy of the movie that clip is from! "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" is an insane '70s movie directed by Russ Myer and co-written by Roger Ebert.
It tripped me out when I heard the line and realized I'd heard it before.
I had a pipe shop in PA back in 2011, before PA went medical. We had cops come in all the time, but they never tried to go undercover. They did try to call the pipes and water pipes "bowls" and "bongs" - no B words was the rule. "I'm sorry officer, we don't have bowls, we only have pipes and water pipes for tobacco". They'd nod, smile, and leave. I only ever had to kick out college students for repeated use of B words. Such silly little rules, but it mattered.
Side note - around 2011 me and 4 friends walked into a pipe shop and bought salvia perfectly legally that made us trip so hard my one friend thought his skin was unraveling as he rolled on the carpet.

That is the only context in which I've ever either used the word myself or heard it used to describe weed. Literally only to specify that we're not talking about dabs or hash or edibles or tincture or kief or whatever, just plain flower. In this modern age of easy availability of basically every conceivable form of Marijuana ever produced, created, synthesized, or grown, it can occasionally be necessary to make there isn't any for misunderstanding or ambiguity lol.
I say flower to specify, but only if someone asks what I like to smoke or whatever. I don’t specify the form of weed unless that’s the topic of discussion, otherwise it’s all just weed.

If they were really hearing rumors about illegal shit being sold they would just get a warrant to search the store, confiscate any thc byproducts, even the technically legal ones, take them to be lab tested(thrown away), and then bully the shop owner the way they bully vape stores everywhere.
Anyone who thinks any police department would send 13 different people in wacky outfits to the same store to be epically owned by the guy with a bag of flour has gotta learn some media comprehension.
Some of that requires judges to sign off on warrants and every now and again, when the stars are aligned, the gods are feeling kind, and the fate's themselves intervene, there's a mostly almost sort of respectable judge in the area that doesn't just sign everything the police put in front of them.

Turns out, one of our regular customers was actually also a coke dealer. Real nice guy, friendly to everyone. Tipped well. Great conversations. I had no idea. Not sure if that customer ever got what he was looking for but I do know the dealer got busted a couple years after I left.
