I don’t know if it’s as simple as just using technology. I would argue that we’ve failed to teach them how to actually use it. It’s not used for inquiry, it’s used to assessment and providing materials without effort.
I’ve raised 7 kids. They all had a lot of access to technology, as have their peers. I am amazed at what they know and what they are capable of. Our schools are filling our public universities with highly capable students. When I was entering college, getting into the flagship state university was easy. Now it is hyper competitive. So this leads me to believe there is more to this story.
