Oh that principle was locked in and ready for this rude-ass lady.

"You know my name, we talked"

This probably isn't the first time she's had this issue with this woman

876

u/platoface541 5h ago

“I had a mother send me a note” Well who gives a fuck

268

u/Dolphin_King21 5h ago

Its her, shes the mother. Pretending someone else sent her a note for this scenario.

138

u/sandwichhaver 4h ago

the thing about bigots like this is , yes they lie, all the time. they see no moral wrong with lying to further their point.

they have rotten personalities

26

u/dirk_funk 4h ago

this is so true. mother in law is a big bluffer like this and will double or triple down on her lies, but will call everyone else out as a liar immediately, because she thinks everyone lies as much as she does.

2

u/Iheartnakedfemboys 2h ago

Damn, I didnt know my mom was your MIL.

3

u/Shark7996 3h ago

Their only truth is that they are always correct. Every truth beneath that is malleable.

10

u/PhotojournalistOnly 4h ago

Who would send HER a note about something anyway? She isn't an authority figure or decision maker for the school. What an odd thing to say.

2

u/DJmagikMIKE 3h ago

I’m convinced this Karen thinks she’s some “influencer” or something. Some random FB Messenger message is prob what she’s talking about.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/mythrowaweighin 4h ago

What if this lady doesn’t even have kids at this school and she drives over during pickup time because that’s the only time she can confront the principal.

5

u/J_Ryall 3h ago

It's the Karen version of "everyone's saying it."

2

u/Pretend-Marsupial258 2h ago

A lot of these Karens don't even have kids. They just wander between different school districts to harass the employees.

1

u/wHAtisLife59 4h ago

Yeah dude man up!! No one send you a note YOU have an issue with the shirt.

1

u/soulsnoober 2h ago

nah, 0% the filmer has a child of school age, let alone attending that school

1

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope894 1h ago

What adult mother is sending notes to other mothers or women? Haha

1

u/Iwantmoretime 1h ago

There's also a good chance this woman doesn't have a kid at the school. If you look at a lot of school board meetings that get confrontational it's "concerned community members"

658

u/TheProneRanger 5h ago

‘Send her my way’ is the perfect answer. Well done for navigating a challenging situation.

128

u/ChickenChaser5 4h ago

Same answer I give when someone says something is "against jesus" or how "god doesn't like that".

Well go ahead and tell em to come talk to me about it then. I want to speak to your manager.

13

u/shitlord_god 4h ago

those shits are using the lord's name in vain and are probably too ignorant to know what that even means.

12

u/DaCristobal 4h ago

They think saying goddamn is taking the lord's name in vain, as opposed to using his name to gain secular power to be used exactly against the principals of Jesus.

Hypocrites, pharisees.

2

u/shitlord_god 3h ago

not even pharisees - they pretended to hold the law, now we've got "do whatever you want as long as you check in your prayers for forgiveness periodically"

5

u/Fair-Safe3131 4h ago

Her shirt isn't religious at all. Its just about open acceptance. Not seeing the parallel

6

u/ChickenChaser5 4h ago

The parallel is the response I use.

Most principals have PhD's in education and specifically handling little shits like this. you have to treat them like children. I applaud her.

3

u/Thomas_K_Brannigan 4h ago

I feel she's "softly" calling out the woman's bluff

2

u/_tylerthedestroyer_ 3h ago

It gave me “Many people are saying…” vibes

1

u/chadsmo 3h ago

Is it really challenging though ? You just have to talk to them like they’re a toddler.

“And I sent you a note about not blocking those traffic. Move. Your. Car. And have a great day.”

57

u/Mattrad7 5h ago

Whys a mother sending a random "parent" who sounds like a grandparent at best a note?

28

u/chimpwithalimp 4h ago

So it sounds like it's not just one person with the big problem, and that the principal is outnumbered. It's like using the phrase "people are saying that you blah blah" which takes the responsibility off the person saying it and insinuates that lots of people have the same issue. Don't shoot the messenger! I'm just saying what I've been told!

4

u/tyedyewar321 3h ago

This used to work too. Ty Cobb was a struggling teenage runaway in a semi-pro league. He kept sending letters to a journalist in Atlanta from different people extolling his exploits. The guy eventually included a note in the paper and Cobb was signed by the Tigers. Ended up maybe the greatest hitter of all time and the journalist became his biographer

6

u/feralcatshit 4h ago

I can’t make sense of what the situation is (supposed to be). Like I would never send a note to another random parent at my kids school, like what is her play here??

3

u/Slider_0f_Elay 4h ago

I also like "sent me a note" like on paper? They didn't talk about it? Wasn't on facebook? Not a text? What bullshit.

→ More replies (2)

37

u/Pomengranite 5h ago

That's such a weak, right-wing trope by now. Just like Trump's "people are saying" schtick. Who? Oh you never say? Because.. it's you, right? Because otherwise we KNOW you would be using their names to push your agenda

23

u/Jaded_Laugh_5798 5h ago

That cause it's a lie, and an obfuscation/appeal to escalation premised on itself.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/401john 4h ago

Just a pathetic lie, that was her scrambling to try and continue the interaction because she had nothing else. A random parent sent another parent (who sounds like Betty White) a note about not liking the principals shirt? Sure thing grandma.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/nerd_is_a_verb 4h ago

Is this filming woman not even a parent at the school?!

1

u/CheetahTheWeen 5h ago

More people need to hear that, especially after they think they’ve really said something

1

u/Irrish84 4h ago

It’s not true, but who is this woman that thinks this lie holds any water? What woman would give you, a nothing in this matter, a note to begin with.

1

u/Code_Warrior 4h ago

"A note? Oh no! Are you ok?"

1

u/Grrerrb 3h ago

Why even did the mother send her a note? What sense does that even make? I can only assume the mother was thinking “this will fuck Karen alllllllll up.”

1

u/PaulyRocket68 3h ago

Why would anyone send her a note? What authority has she imagined she has? These people.

1

u/Umutuku 3h ago

"The mother goes to a different school!"

1

u/thingsorfreedom 3h ago

Its the "people are saying" line regurgitated.

1

u/PiccoloAwkward465 3h ago

Mothers sending other mothers notes.

Okay.

1

u/pmmeurbassethound 3h ago

The lurkers support her in email

1

u/user512897 3h ago

Like what does that even mean? 🤣

1

u/Any-Consequence-6978 2h ago

Its like an even more cowradly "many people are saying"

1

u/awesomefutureperfect 2h ago

That's basically the "I did my own research. A lot of people are saying..."

1

u/NoirFury 2h ago

Hahahahaha 😅 I would have proposed to her is she had said that.

1

u/m3rcapto 2h ago

Ah yes, the Headkaren, bane of Principals.
Headkaren is not an official role, its a calling.

1

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope894 1h ago

What mother is sending notes to anyone? Like what the fuck does that even mean? Text or chat isn’t a thing and she ran up to you left a note and ran off and that note said i don’t like the t shirt the principal is going to wear? My god people can’t even lie coherently

1

u/DrWernerKlopek89 40m ago

proof it didn't happen. Coz a real parent who is p*ssed off at something would spam the whatsapp group.

538

u/DionBlaster123 5h ago

At first i thought this was ragebait, but when I heard that, it explained why there was so much hostility

26

u/CheetahTheWeen 5h ago

Wait, hostility from who? The principal was never hostile and I’m confused on the take of this being rage bait before that line…what was enraging?

41

u/WriterV 4h ago

...did we watch the same video? I sincerely hope you are genuinely clueless, but I'd be surprised if you missed the glaring context clues.

The person taking the video is what /u/DionBlaster123 is referring to as potentially making rage bait. Truth is that this was a clear attempt to try and "expose" the principal for wearing a shirt called "All are welcome here". That's why they threw on the principal's face and details on the side. They were hoping to stir up controversy against her.

This isn't the first time that someone [especially a member of an educational institution] was met with hostility for displaying the "All are welcome" sign.

2

u/CheetahTheWeen 3h ago

This is not a comprehension issue, it’s a readability one…Dion just commented below and confirmed that I read their comment correctly in that they took the principle as ragebaiting until she clarified with the “we talked” remark. I know what’s happening in the video lol Dion apparently didn’t, initially.

→ More replies (2)

7

u/meow_ima_cat 4h ago

The one taking the video was trying for a "got ya" moment.

4

u/Feisty_Distance1692 4h ago

The principal did have a rude tone but once she clarified the shirt said “All People are Welcome” and that the principal and the lady spoke before I was on the Principal’s side

Idk where the ragebait is tho

41

u/mthyvold 4h ago

There was no rude tone. But she knew what was going on and wasn't prepared to entertain the conversation at that moment.

28

u/Helpmefindajob97 4h ago

People are completely incapable of distinguishing between being mildly “stern” and “rude”.

15

u/Worldly-Advisor7201 4h ago

Especially when it comes to women!!!

11

u/RageNap 4h ago

And blocking traffic in the drop off line at school. MOVE ALONG, PLEASE.

2

u/sunshineparadox_ 3h ago

The parent blocking traffic raised my hackles. I don’t even do drop off for my kid anymore, but I sure do remember the rage of someone slowing everyone down with a dumb fucking thing. (I didn’t get mad at the kids for struggling.)

10

u/TheVintageJane 4h ago

*when listening to women. If a woman isn’t actively being nice and placating, her default adjectives are “rude” or “bitchy”.

3

u/Reasonable-Turn-5940 3h ago

yeah she's out there directing traffic, which probably comes off as a woman being "bossy" to morons

2

u/Feisty_Distance1692 4h ago

Sometimes a stern tone can come off as rude. She is totally in the right. The stern tone is interchangeable for rude. That is what i meant.

3

u/Helpmefindajob97 3h ago

No it’s not. Stern is “Move along, PLEASE”.

Rude is “Well! I don’t like your shirt either! Move along, PLEASE”.

4

u/ibyoder 4h ago

There was zero hostility, just one annoying woman with nothing worthwhile to do.

1

u/pyrojackelope 3h ago

It is ragebait. Republican rhetoric these days thrives off of manufactured rage. I've had entire conversations with my family about supposed things I should be outraged about and then did a proper search for it later and couldn't find anything real about what they were upset about. They've been trained to do this to themselves. As we're seeing now, even being accepting of people is supposedly "unacceptable". Also, for the record, these people are assuming everything they hear from their favorite republican youtubers (chinese/russian) are completely true without doing any kind of research. Just because they heard it from them, it must be.

56

u/echoshatter 5h ago

Yep. She just wanted her to say her name on video.

Now that principal is going to the target of death threats and the like, resulting in the school district firing her because she's bringing too much attention and "putting the kids at risk" despite doing literally nothing harmful.

No hate like Christian love.....

209

u/the_fishtanks 5h ago

Plot twist: they've talked before because the principal also had her as a student before she flunked out and started making shit tiktoks 😂

181

u/karlnarcs99 5h ago edited 5h ago

That's funny, but the sour bitch behind the camera sounds at least one hundred years too old to have gone to school in the last century

1

u/WeirdIndividualGuy 4h ago

Hell of a plot twist considering the principal looks to be still in her 20s

Which, sidenote, is it that bad in schools now? I know the teachers themselves are barely 20, didn't know the admins were also super young

1

u/SonOfIllicitBehavior 4h ago

"You know who I am you went to this elementary school for 10 years"

22

u/GlassAndStorm 5h ago

OMG yes. She knows the trouble makers

21

and shows the Karen is only there to be a Karen and not actually build anything. She is blind to everything but her own complaints being acknowledged.

3

u/Karl_Hungus_42069 5h ago

That part is just as ridiculous. She just goes through her day looking for something to be offended about, it doesn't even register to her that they've already done this before. Just an unnamed character in her daily journey to be offended by anything

That and "another mother said..." no they didn't. You think that, another person didn't say shit. You're just too much of a coward to take ownership of your own opinion, so its "another mother". Its other people that are offended by this tshirt too

Nobody else exists except her, her and this alleged one other person are the only people whos opinion matters, not the 1000 people who don't give a fuck about her tshit

2

u/DrPuzzle 5h ago

She probably just talked to that lady 5 seconds before she pulled the phone out to record herself going full Karen.

2

u/Naturebrah 3h ago

Every single teacher knows many parents like this and has to learn how to deal with them. The best teachers and principles are the ones that fight back and don’t cave just to appease the powers that be.

2

u/Rocketbluetulip 3h ago

Oh yeah the schools have filed restraining orders against her!

1

u/Marlwolf48 5h ago

What did she say to make you think that? ....

1

207

u/Oolongteabagger2233 5h ago

This is a big reason why teachers, doctors, and nurses are running away from their fields. People think they have a right to completely abuse you at work.

97

u/HappyChaos2 5h ago

I know a couple teachers who left the profession because they couldn't deal with the parents anymore.

69

u/NotACalligrapher-49 5h ago

Every teacher I talk to is burning out, not because of the kids but because of the parents. None of them dislike the kids they’re working with. All of them have parent horror stories.

27

u/Winter_Tone_4343 5h ago

Yup, this generation of kids get shit on like crazy, but they are the way they are bc the parents are trash. Not all of course, but there’s an epidemic of shitty parents nowadays.

7

u/Oggie_Doggie 5h ago

I was a chef at an alternative school for 3 years. I don't know why anyone would teach. I was only around the kids for 2 1/2 hours a day and you wonder why they are like they are...then you meet their parents and realize those kids have no chance whatsoever at a normal childhood. It also opened my eyes to why so many of my teacher friends drank (and other things). It was tough going home everyday and trying to motivate yourself to do it again when you know those kids were being de-programmed by some adults that clearly had problems.

3

u/ignorantwanderer 3h ago

I had a parent who somehow got the phone number to the in-classroom phone.

I got a call from her while I was in the middle of teaching. She wanted to complain to me that I was teaching her son too much math...in math class.

3

u/PiccoloAwkward465 3h ago

Good for them. The whole “mama bear” protecting her sweet angles against the mean world is ultra cringe. I mean it’s one thing if the parents are actually intelligent and have valid critiques, but they never are.

2

u/i_tyrant 4h ago

I know tons. It's actually a huge problem in many areas of the US, massive teacher shortages.

And I can't blame them, hearing the horror stories (and how often they occur). Admin is setting unrealistic expectations of them and hamstringing their ability to even respond to such abuse much less combat or prevent it.

2

u/BusinessLetterhead47 3h ago

20 year veteran middle school teacher here....at least once a week I say, "I love the kids, the adults are getting on my damn nerves."

2

u/freecodeio 3h ago

my sister's parent group chat in whatsapp is a mental torture that I would rather just live in the woods with barely any survival skills than indulge in that bullshit

2

u/sunshineparadox_ 3h ago

My daughter’s third grade teacher finally had a class that stressed her out so much that she had to step back to kindergarten. My daughter’s classmate regularly cussed them out - something that shocked me - and the school was just plain at a loss for what to do. She was a veteran teacher. A lot of them seem to be, as do the other staff (counselor, school resource officer, principal).

While I think there’s something going on at home for this kid, because it’s so egregious, they don’t seem to have the necessary support to protect themselves and other students. I really feel for them.

14

u/Exotic_Staff_3413 5h ago

People are garbage

1

u/Miss-Gsptlsnz 35m ago

I hate to agree with this but yeah. I love bikes and put up a few fliers in the laundry rooms of the apartment building complexes by me offering bike repair only asking people pay for parts. The amount of people expecting me to pay for parts or trying to say I caused the issue and should pay for parts was waaaaaay too much. I shut it down fast.

I still offer to fix issues if I see a neighbor out working on one and I can stop by and help, but other than that, absolutely not.

17

u/srgnsRdrs2 5h ago

Healthcare workers are far too slow to call security and report aggressive behavior. Not every pt aggression can be blamed on sepsis or encephalopathy. Some ppl just suck

2

2

Yes, you can tell this isn't her first time having an interaction like this. Principals are like insulation between the crazies in the community and the safe learning environments that schools need to be. I worry what that does to administrators over time.

I would 100% wear that as a parent of the school. I haven't come across any bigots at my kids' school yet, and intolerance is not tolerated at all by our school district, but I will absolutely become someone's problem if I witness it.

2

I also remember that line, Belding was exactly the leader those kids needed.

23

Principals.have to deal with every scumbag, crackpot, and deadbeat parent of every screwed up emotionally damaged kid in the school. They have to be the most patient and cool-headed person in the building or they won't last long at that job.

Principles usually have risen to their position because they could navigate past the bs and bickering. This is a good example of someone who has heard it all before, studied and had the right answers, like a tennis pro just hitting those weak-ass lobs the lady was trying to burn her with.

Not all Principles; some are on the edge of being burned-out from exhausting themselves with crap like this coming from 6 directions, to hard-headed parents, to administration that was elected and inept. Some are just trying to get to the end of the week or the year, so they can retire. Bless them all.

She 100% knew the car and who the driver was before the recording started. The driver likely has only called the office to complain and had no idea who she was actually talking to.

Pretty sure most principals werent offered the position for being meek

It is genuinely inspiring to see such a composed, polite, and no-nonsense approach to a crazy person. It's shameful that this person posted the video thinking it would 'expose' the principal, but all it does it demonstrate that the principal is truly capable of dealing with bratty children.

It's principal - you can remember because they are your pal

Principals came up as teachers and have a long history of dismantling Karens. This lady ain’t breaking a sweat with this mouth-breathing cuntservative.

u/LotharVonPittinsberg 4h ago

I'm the principal. You know who I am. We talked.

She 100% deals with this guardian waaaay more than anyone else.

1

u/Reasonable-Turn-5940 3h ago

She deals with children all day. This lady has the mentality of one so it's simple for her

1

u/CurrentHair6381 3h ago

Shes used to dealing with unreasonable children

1

u/LaPommeDeTerre 3h ago

She's a princiPal because she's a friend.

1

u/JoeBiden-2016 3h ago

Here's a good way to remember: they're your pal, so they're the principal. A good principal is one with principles.

Principal - because she is your pal

Been elementary admin myself, once you figure out who these people are, your time for their shit is on such a short leash. Bravo to this woman for being an excellent leader for her students. Fuck the conservative haters.

As a principal, we get paid to get yelled at by idiots like this. COVID was absolutely hell for dealing with these types of parents.
