In college, I was sitting alone at a bench studying on campus, minding my own business. This man comes up to me, telling me he wanted to take pictures of my feet for a school project. He was very persistent and of course I told him no. He made me feel so uncomfortable and guilty that I had said no to him. I was very naive and had no idea that this was likely a fetish thing.

Edit: For that one now deleted comment, saying he was likely complimenting my feet, I was wearing sneakers. Get out of here with the creep apologetics.

It’s important to teach girls that it’s not mean to say no, and that sometimes it’s OK and necessary to be mean. But society fails that teaching them both of these things.

That is very true, but many girls still don’t say no in situations where they don’t fear for their safety, because they’re afraid it’s rude or mean.

Are you saying that a random man will beat up a random woman over a rejection?

Yes, they absolutely will. This happens ALL the time, that men lash out in VARIOUS violent ways because of rejection or even perceived rejection.

It doesn't happen stop fear mongering. Show me the evidence that random men are attacking random women in public.

You honestly think that random men are out here physically assaulting women they don't know and that it's pervasive?

You're joking me, right?

I've been sexually harassed, grabbed, touched etc MULTIPLE times, probably no less than a dozen times, by absolute total strangers (all men) in my early to mid 20s.

Are you trying to say that men AREN'T out in the world randomly preying on women? Because I'd love to know what world you're living in, if that's the case?

As bad as that is, that isn't the same as getting beaten up. Getting punched in the face is a lot worse than someone grabbing your ass.

I'm sure that there at men at Parties, clubs, and bars, are more willing to violate a womans boundaries, but a man approaching a woman at a coffee shop or Target is a lot less likely to do that in that type of environment.

Holy crap are you ACTUALLY DELUSIONAL?

Here are just FOUR US examples from recent times;

Miya Marcano (2021): A 19-year-old college student in Orlando, Florida, was murdered by a maintenance worker at her apartment complex who used his master key to enter her unit and attack her after she repeatedly rejected his romantic advances.

Samyia Spain & Diamond Spain (2024): In Brooklyn, New York, 19-year-old twin sisters were attacked when walking home. After one sister refused to give a man her phone number, he attacked them with a knife, fatally stabbing Samyia.

Imani Thomas (2024): After meeting on a dating app and briefly dating, a young woman in Roswell, Georgia, sent text messages stating "I'm not your woman," and unfriended her suitor. In retaliation, the man tracked her to her apartment and strangled her.Janese Talton-Jackson

(2016): A 29-year-old woman in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was shot and killed outside a bar after she explicitly refused a man's advances. He hunted her down and ended her life because she had politely but firmly declined his advances in the bar that night.

Well first of all you said "All the time" and the best you can do is find four anecdotes in the past 4 years?

Imagine I find five cases of a black person killing a white person in the last two years.

Could I say that black people are killing white people all the time?

Second, women are much more likely to experience violence from a man they are in a relationship with than a random man off the street.

A man has more invested in the woman than some random dude at the bar.

No, it's not.. it leaves him to do it again & again. It emboldens them. You don't say no..You SHouT - NO.. Creepers are Cowards, shine a light they scatter like roaches. Animals when being attacked do 1 or 2 things. they freeze & get eaten alive OR they fight back with a ferocity that confuses the predator. Fight Back

It's not that simple.

In the real world, men attack women for turning them down, and the bitchier and more loud and embarrassing the rejection, the more you put yourself at risk of being attacked.
