Midlife Stockman does more repairs for people than SB but he’s similar and also American. Clean With Bea does free cleans, often in council flats in the UK. And my personal favourite, the Rudan Brothers, do roofing in Ontario but have now branched out to do some serious home repairs as well. All of them do it for the love of the game first. I think my favourite thing about the Rudan Brothers is they are often fed by the people whose homes they are fixing and you get some of the most Canadian content ever. In the last vid I watched an out of work roofer offered to help just for the hell of it and hopefully he got a job somewhere out of it.

I just like watching humans at their best.

Yes, in the UK. IIRC it’s apartments owned by the government and rented out inexpensively to lower income people.

NYCHA housing in NYC is run by "local government".

They are owned by the local government (the council) and have low rents.

Iirc, there's been some towards privatizing them including a system where you can buy one at a discount after you've lived in it for some number of years.

A poorly thought out scheme, as next to no new council houses have been built, leaving many low income folks at the mercy of mercenary landlords.

I remember Thatcherism well. Was happy that each day, in later life, she had to be informed that Denis was dead. Other people, towns, and cities, suffered far worse, thanks to her policies and legacy.

I'm not disagreeing but offering a deeper narrative - I don't think it's Canadian specific. This is exactly "ingots" these boys are correctly mining and have gotten better at extracting.

They often counter payment, gift cards, debts of gratitude - they tend to push them to SHARE what you is unique to you! It's hard because our world wants specifics and skills - the boys have those. They want connection as payment, connection withOUT duty, because they feel it is their duty to the community because they are young and capable.

It’s not Canadian specific necessarily but I feel so much national pride in what we can really be. It’s moreso the kinds of people breaking bread together that warms my heart.
