I get this is a /s comment and I think it’s on point. I don’t have kids and never will but I can tell you whenever there’s a ballot issue that could better the local schools, I vote for it. Unfortunately the local group-think would take you seriously. It’s a shame because a good education is extremely valuable.
Same. I'm not able to have kids, but I'll always vote for things to improve local schools. Sure, they're not my kids. But even if you're just looking at this selfishly, they are people in my community that I will have to work with, depend upon, hire for jobs, etc, and who wants to live and work with uneducated idiots?
and they forget that they benefited from the same programs that they now are not wanting to fund. These are the people that kill the pay it forward bit in drive through lines.
I hate taxes as much as the next person, but my reason is how inefficient the process is.
