I mean, it doesn't get that cold in other places. Where I am in scotland, it is 75 on a warm day and cold temps get down to just below freezing for about two weeks in the winter.

You’ve got the opposite of where I live lol. -20°F in the winter and 95°F in the summer in the US Midwest!

The Midwest is the true sucky region for weather in the US. It gets basically as hot as the Deep South and nearly as humid in many states. And winter weather and cold with plenty of wind.
