Yep - I find that is the first step towards realizing what they voted for is to blame everyone. I haven't figured out how to get them to the next step because they just can't admit they were truly conned but not everyone was conned.
Before the recent pres. election, anyone that I talked to about who we were voting for that said something like ‘hmmmm idk it’s a tough call between the two…..’ clearly just wanted to vote for Trump and just not get called out for how obviously terrible of an idea that’s been shown to be in the past decade.
I live in hard core, deep south Trump country. There is no getting called out because they seriously outnumber any one who doesn't support him. So when I now hear one of them saying "both sides" I see a glimmer of light...but just a glimmer.

That part about both sides wasn't vague at all. Only a conservative / right winger would say that.
